Privacy Policy — Doodle Merge: Notebook Wars
Last updated: 28 August 2026
This policy explains what happens to data when you play Doodle Merge: Notebook Wars
("the Game"), published by Cultivator Developer ("we", "us").
Please read it before installing. If you do not agree with it, do not install the Game.
Short version
We do not ask for your name, email, or any account. We do not build a profile of you.
The Game is free and contains no purchases of any kind — there is nothing to buy.
The Game stores your progress on your own device. The only data that leaves your
device is what Google's advertising service needs in order to show ads, plus anonymous
crash reports and gameplay statistics that help us fix bugs and improve the game.
1. Information stored on your device
The Game saves the following locally, on your device only. We cannot see it, and it is
never uploaded to us:
• Game progress: current page (level), highest page beaten, and your Sketchbook discoveries
• In-game currency balances: Ink and Gems (both earned by playing — never bought)
• Upgrade ranks bought with in-game Ink
• Daily challenge progress and your daily reward claim date
• Your sound and Reduce Motion preferences
This data is removed when you uninstall the Game or clear its data in Android settings.
2. Information collected by third parties
The Game includes services provided by Google. These services collect data directly —
it does not pass through us, and we never receive your personal information from them.
Google AdMob (advertising)
The Game shows advertisements. To do this, Google AdMob may collect and process:
• Your device's Advertising ID
• Device information (model, operating system version, language, country)
• IP address (used to infer approximate, city-level location)
• Ad interaction data (ads shown, ads viewed, ads clicked)
This is used to serve, measure and — where permitted — personalise advertising.
• Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
• You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation
entirely, in *Android Settings → Privacy → Ads*.
Google Firebase Analytics (gameplay statistics)
So we can see which parts of the Game are too hard, too easy, or broken, Firebase Analytics
records anonymous gameplay events — for example that a page was cleared, a wave was reached,
or the tutorial was finished. Alongside these it collects:
• An app instance ID — a random identifier for this installation. It is not your name,
your email, or your Advertising ID, and it is reset if you reinstall or clear app data.
• Device information (model, operating system version, language, country)
• Approximate, city-level region derived from your IP address
We use this only in aggregate — "how far do players get", not "what did this person do".
Google Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
When the Game crashes or freezes, Crashlytics sends us a report so we can fix it. A report
contains the technical error, the state of the app at that moment, the app version, and the
device model and OS version. It contains nothing you typed and nothing about you personally.
• Firebase's data disclosure: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
3. What we do NOT do
To be explicit, the Game does not:
• contain any in-app purchases, subscriptions or paid content — there is nothing to buy,
and the Game never asks you for money or payment details
• require an account, login, name, email address or phone number
• record your name, email, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera in crash reports
or gameplay statistics
• collect or transmit your contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data
• request precise GPS location
• run any analytics or tracking servers of our own. The statistics described in section 2 are
collected by Google's services and reach us only as anonymous, aggregated numbers
• track you across other companies' apps or websites
• sell your data to anyone. We hold no personal data, so we have none to sell.
4. Age requirement — 13 and over
The Game is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child
under 13 has been using the Game, contact us at the address below and we will assist.
Because the Game contains third-party advertising, it is not enrolled in Google Play's
Designed for Families programme.
5. Your choices and rights
• Reset advertising data — *Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID*
• Turn off personalised ads — same settings menu
• Delete everything — uninstall the Game, or *Settings → Apps → Doodle Merge:
Notebook Wars → Storage → Clear data*. This also resets the anonymous app instance ID used
by analytics and crash reporting, so the new install cannot be linked to the old one.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA),
you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. As we hold
no personal data ourselves, such requests should be directed to Google. We will help you
identify the right contact if you ask.
6. Data retention
We hold no personal data ourselves. Google retains the advertising, analytics and crash data
described above under its own retention periods, linked above. Analytics data is kept for a
limited window and then aggregated; crash reports are kept while they remain useful for fixing
the bug they describe.
7. Security
Game progress is stored using standard Android app-private storage. The Game handles no
payments and holds no financial data of any kind.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Game changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will
change. Material changes will be noted in the app's store listing.
