As an integrative therapist, therapy is tailored to best meet each individuals needs.
Therapy is person-centred and strengths focused. Your counselling sessions will be focused on you as an individual. The counselling process is supportive and holistic practice can be integrated where it is complimentary to therapy. Counselling is a process, during which we will work together in supporting you to achieve your goals and potential.
The person-centred approach ultimately sees human beings as having an innate tendency to develop towards their full potential. This ability can become blocked or distorted by our life experiences - particularly those that effect our sense of value.

"The compassionate, collaborative, empathetic person-centred approach is acknowledged as one of the best evidence-based approaches to providing service" - Storlie 2015.
Holistic/Mindfulness therapy can be used within your counselling sessions if you feel that this would be beneficial.

Through working with both adults and teenagers, I have connected with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, suicidal ideations and behaviours, personality disorders, mood disorders, family issues, abuse, identity issues and addiction among others. In the therapy process a person-centred approach is taken; as it is the client who knows themselves most deeply and the therapeutic relationship aids and supports the client's process in progressing towards their ideal self. Building on strengths and solution-focused, therapy is shaped to empower and support the client.
Therapy may be of a long or short-term nature depending on client needs; for example solution-focused therapy being short-term while psychoanalysis is long-term. CBT may also be integrated where applicable to assist client's in their journey of positive self-development.
During the time that you are attending counselling, issues you may find difficult to discuss can arise. These may cause you to feel anger, sadness, guilt, shame. However, through this process, you will be moving towards self-acceptance and positive solution, which in turn will lead to improved relationships, solutions and better mental health.
