I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Massey University, New Zealand. I received my PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. My research combines economic theory and empirical analysis, with a focus on international finance and open macroeconomics. I place strong value on economic theory as a foundation for rigorous analysis and critical thinking.
At Massey, I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in macroeconomics and econometrics. In my teaching, I emphasise the role of theory in developing critical thinking and in understanding the mechanisms underlying real-world economic outcomes. I also place strong emphasis on empirical skills and econometric reasoning, helping students translate research questions into well-designed analyses using real-world data.
I am involved in research supervision at Master's and PhD levels, and regularly contribute to academic service within the School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance, Massey Business School.
