Hello, I am a researcher in the Economics and Industry Analysis Department at the Hana Institute of Finance. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kansas.
My research interests are in micro-based Macroeconomics, Behavioral Economics (Hyperbolic Discounting), Public finance, Inequality, and Fiscal and Monetary policies.
I study macroeconomic topics through the lens of hyperbolic discounting (present bias): the effects of behavioral mistakes on individual decisions and their impact on economic outcomes such as aggregate output, savings, inflation, inequality, and welfare.
My research also extends to family choices including fertility and human capital investment for children under hyperbolic discounting. I aim to provide a theoretical framework for governments to design appropriate policies that correct the behavioral mistakes induced by present bias.
