Welcome! I'm an assistant professor of Sociology at the University of Macau. I study demography, culture, and stratification. My work seeks to use a combination of spatial, longitudinal, and small-area estimation methods to contribute to both theoretical and policy debates in China and the U.S.
I received my Ph.D. in Rural Sociology and Demography from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the University of Macau, I was an associate professor of Demography at Renmin University of China. I also worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China at Princeton University.
My work has been published in Demographic Research, Journal of Contemporary China, Population, Space, and Place, Rural Sociology, Sociological Methodology, Computers in Human Behavior, and other peer-reviewed outlets.
