"Don't" is the debut single by American singer Bryson Tiller. It was released on May 20, 2015, as the first single for his debut studio album Trapsoul. The beat was composed and produced by Epikh Pro. The song contains an interpolation "Shake It Off" by Mariah Carey on the second verse. This song peaked at number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it became Tiller's first top 20 hit.

Tiller originally released this song in October 2014 on his SoundCloud page and started receiving attention from internet based fans and music industry insiders, accumulating 4 million streams in the first six months, and eventually reaching over 35 million streams.[1] Tiller, after increased popularity of the single, admitted that he "made this shit in his living room".[2]

"Don't" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 84 for the chart dated October 17, 2015, and peaked at number 13, becoming his first top-twenty single on the chart. On November 16, 2017, the single was certified quadruple platinum[4] by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for combined sales and streaming equivalent units of over four million copies in the United States.

Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

For some reason, some of the tracks I love won't play. When I click the track it will sit there not playing anything. It will still say the song is selected and playing, but it's not. The bar does not move to indicate time. There is no dot to fast forward anything.

another things I noticed are all songs I bought from iTunes too. However, there from the spotify app, not my local files. I tried making a new playlist with those songs directly linked from my local files and they still don't play. Does that make sense?

For those of you who can't make it work by updating quicktime, I might have the solution! ... (forgive me if i can't speak english but i'm not from a english speaking country)...

It also happened to me; I couldn't play certain songs either...

When that icon is there, the song can't seem to be played.

For some reason, it's because the song is already existing on you computer in another music program, like iTunes or something like that.

How to fix it:

Go to the folders on the left side on the window - same place where you can see your playlists, "what's new", "Library" and those sites - and select "local files". Now delete all the songs in that folder, and now you can play them!

I hope i'm not off topic or misunderstanding something in your discussion, but that seems to be the problem, right?... It worked for me ... I hope it can help you guys also... If the case is not so, i'm sorry, i tried.

Really strange problem. It didn't start until a few days ago when I deleted iTunes (I still had Windows Media and a few other players). For some reason, deleting iTunes created the problem. Or maybe it was the new Spotify update. Either way, seems to be working now so thanks!!

Deleting iTunes might have removed the codecs needed to decode the local files you have in iTunes. If you want to listen to local files again, try installing Apple Quicktime it should do the same job!

@Cobbyco - I would try a clean reinstallation of the app, but be aware you will need to resync all of your downloaded content. This sometimes happens when Spotify caches a corrupt copy of the track - which is annoying but it somehow happens!

ive had a problem with playback on every song no matter what i have to keep hitting the play button several times before it will finally show the song in green and play it and then it s a delayed reaction am i doing something wrong

Got kind of a similar problem. Ive got Spotify on my PC, my Android phone and finally on my Samsung TV. The problem I got is that on my computer all songs are playable (eg. not a problem), on my phone 1/4 of the songs wont play and on my TV 1/3 of the songs wont play.

TineNrgaard - you were ABSOLUTELY correct! This has been happening for months now for me in Spotify, and I never realized that the stopped songs were all ones that I already owned in iTunes. I vote that you have discovered the solution.

It's so annoying when I am just listening to Spotify radio and suddenly the music stops! And it does this because I own that song that is trying to be played.

Thank you for figuring it out! You have made a very annoying issue go away for me.

Glad it worked

I think it would be nice uf us to go to other sites where people have this issue, and tell them the solution... So if you happen to find someone with this problem, don't hesitate with letting the rest of the internet know how to fix the problem

Just discovered something else. When Spotify is closed and reopened, the files previously deleted from the local files playlist come back and will no longer play again. So I have it set to only show local files in iTunes and now I have also moved those songs out of my iTunes folder in Finder (I'm on an iMac) and now that finally seems to work.

I may be using Spotify wrong, but I imported my music that was all previously in iTunes and so it is in my Local Files folder. If I delete it, it just takes them off Spotify completely and I would have to go search down all 3000+ songs again to build my library back up. So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not, but deleting the files in my Local Files folder doesn't fix the problem and just gets rid of those songs.

I have noticed, however, that the songs that won't play are all songs that my stepdad bought in iTunes. My computer is authorized in iTunes to play music he bought and they're all supported file types, so might it be that I have to authorize Spotify to play his music?

I managed to delete the local files so that all my songs would play on spotify but the problem i have now is that the songs that i previously had on the local files still wont play while offline. Ive tried re sync and download the music again but the songs still dont work offline. Can someone help me to get these songs playing off line please.

While there isn't currently a way to dislike a song, you can hide it in the mobile app so that it doesn't play in that particular playlist/album on your device. Just go to the song's location and tap the three dots menu > Hide song.

On the mobile app, you can curate the content in the Music feed of your Home screen. In case you find a suggestion that doesn't interest you, you can mark is as Not interested. More info here.

The curated playlists like "Good Morning Playlist" has all kinds of music I don't care for, but there doesn't seem to be any option to refine my tastes here. The three dots menu next to the tracks I don't like don't give me any options to hide an artist or exclude them from my taste profile.

This is madness. Spotify shoves this one song down my throat almost every day and I f------ hate it. I hate it. It drives me f------ nuts. If I'm, say, cooking and letting Spotify run, it will play this song, and I hate this song so much that I feel like I must act on this visceral urge to drop everything I'm doing, run to my desktop device, and skip it.

I honestly didn't think it was possible for me to react so strongly to a song, but Spotify forces it on me so much that I've developed new feelings of hatred for a piece of music. Hand on heart, I would rather you strap headphones to my head so I can't take them off, turn the volume up to the max, and play "Surfin' Bird" in one ear and "The Chipmunk Song" in the other ear at the same time over listening to this song.

Thank god I found this thread, so I could block this artist on the mobile app, but given that the feature exists there, it a) can't be insurmountably hard to implement on desktop, and b) Spotify can't be ideologically opposed to giving their users the power to do this.

Whomever or whatever algorithm that picks songs to play after the album I've been listening to is doing a consistently bad job. It doesn't add things I've favorited, and instead adds a bunch of stuff I'd really rather not listen to. Marking a handful of Artists as Do Not Play Unless Specifically Requested would be a great addition to my listening pleasure. It's a fairly simple database add, one binary field, just like Favorite but acted upon oppositely.

We see where you're coming from and how the algorithm might be inaccurate at times. However, you can help it become better and better over time! If you don't like a song/artist from your Radio (that starts after an album) or from your personalized suggestions, then you can use the 3-dotted menu next to the song in question and choose "Hide this song". Also if you tap on the particular artist name (below the song title) and visit his profile page, again on the 3-dotted menu, you can choose "Don't play this" to stop getting recommendations about that artist.

Keep in mind that the algorithm needs some time to reflect the change of preferences. You can expect them to be observable in one to three weeks time. More info on how to improve the playlists made for you, you can find here. 152ee80cbc
