Dynamics of Machines Lab is a research lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology-Patna, India. This research facility focuses on Continuum Mechanics, Fault Diagnosis, Condition Monitoring, Nonlinear Dynamics and Control. DoM Lab has proven its capabilities through high-quality research by delivering top-notch Journal publications and patents.

Dr. Somnath Sarangi is presently Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Patna. He obtained B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT-Durgapur in 1997, M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1988 and Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur in 2008. He has two and a half year of industry experience. He has been teaching and researching in IIT Patna since 2008 in the areas of Continuum Mechanics, Condition Monitoring and Dynamics. He has worked on eight sponsored and two consultancy projects.
