Aeronautical Engineering has always been a career path that I wanted to pursue due to my interest in joining the United States Navy. The science and interworks of an aircraft had always fascinated me and working on them to either repair or manage improvements on the Naval aircraft was something I’ve been wanting to do for most of my life. I decided that aviation was a field I wanted to follow when I was accepted into the Forrest Technical Center as a Sophomore and exploring the field of aviation, along with attending the Tech Center that allowed me to work on Cessna airplanes and learn more about aviation to pursue a career.
The classes I’ve taken through high school heavily reflect on what I need to know and achieve in the field of aviation; for mathematics I’ve taken Geometry, Honor Algebra 2 and Calculus while for elective classes I took Computer Science to help learn about the instruments of an aircraft, and also the numeral processes of instruments. In Aviation I learned how to disassemble Cessna panels, and assemble them back, Tape and Die, soldering and how to read a sectional chart. In CADD
In Civil Air Patrol and other sports, I’ve learned leadership and companionship - two values that I’ll need in my future career. Civil Air Patrol is a great start for pursuing my career due to it’s nature in leadership and the military, along with it’s vast knowledge of aircraft. The organization helped me fly my first plane and learn far more in aviation to help me become more interested in both aviation and the military. Currently, I’m an employee at RC Theaters, another source that helped develop my leadership and following of directions, another thing that’ll be important in the future.
Once I graduate high school next year in 2023, I’ll be heading to one of the various colleges that I’ve applied to - Purdue University, United States Naval Academy, Virginia Military Institution or Moorhouse University. After college, I’ll be joining the United States Navy with a Commission as an Officer and begin my career in aviation. The reason why I chose the military as a career path instead of a more civilian life is that I wish to gather more experience, and feats in aviation before ultimately transitioning to the civilian world and market of aviation. I also want to serve my country first, following the same path my grandfather and father took in the United States Military.
