Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I finished my PhD in Philosophy at Georgetown University in 2025.
I specialize in moral and political philosophy. Many of my interests in ethical theory, political philosophy, and social theory coalesce around questions about human flourishing in capitalism.
In my research, I am guided by the question of how human beings engage in the everyday business of living. Given our objective and affective relationships to labor in our daily lives, what is it rational to hope for, to desire, from this activity? To answer this question, I draw on Karl Marx's writings on the concept of alienation, particularly in the Grundrisse and Capital, as well as contemporary work in moral and political philosophy on Marx's conception of unalienated labor.
In my current research project, I develop a critical reconstruction of Marx's view of human flourishing that can help us understand the value and significance of unalienated labor, both in Marx's own writings and for moral and political questions we have today.
