Having completed a Bachelor of Arts in Geography at University College London, I am now looking to fully start my career as a film producer. Whilst at UCL I produced multiple short films with the UCL's well-respected Film and Television Society, honing my skills as a creative leader and organiser. I started two big film projects at UCL, co-producing Long Way From Home and Pigeon-livered. Both are two of the Film Society's most ambitious short films.
We were fortunate to shoot Pigeon-livered on 16mm with the 16BL Arriflex camera that Christopher Nolan used to shoot his 1998 debut feature film Following. I organised a 3-day outdoor shoot using this camera that was incredibly rewarding and successful.
Meanwhile, skills that I learnt from my degree include a deeper understanding of the climate crisis (through modules such as Environmental Change, Ecological Patterns and Processes, and Environment and Society) and confidence in data manipulation, analysis, and communication (through modules: Statistics for Environmental Geographers, a Physical Geography Field Research Trip to Mallorca).
On the human side of Geography, I have attained a deeper cultural understanding of the world around us (through: Development Geography, Water and Development in Africa, Postcolonial Geographies of African Development, and Geopolitical Events), and broader creative academic awareness (through: Interactions of Music and Science, and An Introduction to World Cinema).
Outside of my university career, I co-founded the ongoing social night titled 'Alex and Dom: All Night Long'. Designed to foster a community of similar-aged people, the event is a relaxed space for people to meet, dance, and enjoy themselves.
I am looking to produce films and content that tackle the enormity of the climate crisis and offer hope for a more sustainable future.
