Dome of the Rock

The Dome of the Rock is an Islamic temple in Jerusalem, Palestine.

Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) ascended into heaven from here.

Muslims now go to this temple to pray inside, and it is seen as a sacred monument for them.

These photos were taken inside the Dome of the Rock. The walls contain Islamic scriptures and you can see this in the center ring.

The interior is decorated with marble and golden mosaic and it is truly ethereal seeing it in person.
