Dogu is developed by Kibo Nakamura.
This Privacy Policy explains how Dogu handles your data when you use the app.
1. What Dogu does
Dogu helps you keep track of personal items, warranties, invoices, photos, and documents.
You can use Dogu in two ways:
- Without an account: your inventory is stored only on your device.
- With an account: your inventory can be backed up and synchronized through the cloud.
2. Data stored on your device
When you use Dogu, the app may store the following information locally on your device:
- Item names and descriptions
- Purchased value
- Purchase dates
- Warranty dates
- Comments and tags
- Photos of items
- Invoices, warranty documents, and other attachments
- Local sync status information
If you use Dogu without an account, this local data is the only copy. If you delete the local inventory or lose your device, Dogu cannot recover that data.
3. Data stored in the cloud
If you create an account, Dogu stores your inventory data in the cloud using Parse / Back4App.
Cloud data may include:
- Account information such as username and email address
- Item metadata
- Photos and document attachments
- Sync information needed to keep your devices up to date
This allows Dogu to back up your inventory, recover it after reinstalling the app, and synchronize it across devices.
4. Account deletion
You can delete your Dogu account from inside the app.
Deleting your account removes your cloud inventory and account data associated with Dogu. The local copy on your device is also removed.
5. Local cache and sign out
When you sign out, Dogu can remove the local copy of your cloud inventory from the device.
This does not delete your cloud inventory. Your cloud inventory can be downloaded again when you sign in.
6. Analytics
Dogu does not currently use third-party analytics services.
If analytics are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before those services are used.
7. Advertising
Dogu may show banner ads provided by Google AdMob.
Google AdMob may process data such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app activity, diagnostics, and ad interaction data to provide, measure, personalize, and improve ads, depending on your consent choices and applicable privacy laws.
Where required, Dogu will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads. You may also see non-personalized ads depending on your region and choices.
8. Third-party services
Dogu currently uses:
- Parse / Back4App for account management and cloud synchronization
- Apple iOS local storage technologies for on-device data
These services may process data as needed to provide app functionality.
9. Security
Dogu uses platform security features and secure cloud access controls to help protect your data.
Please note that invoices, warranty documents, and item photos may contain personal information. You should only upload documents that you are comfortable storing in your Dogu account.
