Provident Living, the Church self-reliance and welfare site, has multiple financial calculators to help with personal financial health and planning.
"We encourage you wherever you may live in the world to prepare for adversity by looking to the condition of your finances. We urge you to be modest in your expenditures; discipline yourselves in your purchases to avoid debt. Pay off debt as quickly as you can, and free yourselves from this bondage. Save a little money regularly to gradually build a financial reserve.
"If you have paid your debts and have a financial reserve, even though it be small, you and your family will feel more secure and enjoy greater peace in your hearts." - Message from the First Presidency, All is Safely Gathered In: Family Finances
The IRS encourages use of the Withholding Calculator to perform a quick “paycheck checkup.” This is especially important due to the 2018 tax law changes. The Withholding Calculator is designed to help identify the right amount of tax withheld from your paycheck. Not too much but not too little.
When paying camp fees, please use the Transfer function in the LCR. We now have the option to select both Budget and OAMFA in the same transfer when selecting fund source and destination.
When selecting the stake funds category to transfer funds into, select the appropriate Other:Authorized Member-Financed Activities sub-category for the stake:
Young Women Camp
Young Women High Adventure
Young Men High Adventure
LCR may require supporting documentation to be uploaded. Uploading a list of attendees and their fee with a tally of the camp fees will satisfy the supporting documentation requirement. When completed in this manner the clerk and approving bishopric member do not have to be at the same computer or at the clerk's office to initiate or complete the transfer.
Please DO NOT transfer fees for multiple camps in a single transfer. Create a separate transfer for each camp to simplify accounting (i.e., create one transfer for YW Camp and a second for YW High Adventure). Also, please annotate in the Purpose field the camp name and how many are attending (example: YW Camp fees, 5 YW).
2021 Camp fees for each attendee are as follows:
YW Camp: TBD
YW High Adventure: TBD
YM High Adventure: TBD
