Gregory Doerk

Dr. Doerk is a materials scientist at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) within Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), where his research focuses on nanostructural materials engineering via self-assembly processes for energy harvesting, storage, and conservation applications. Prior to joining the CFN, Dr. Doerk performed postdoctoral research at the IBM Almaden Research Center in block copolymer directed self-assembly for next-generation lithography. He then became a research staff member at HGST, a Western Digital Co., investigating nanofabrication strategies for the manufacture of sub-10nm patterned magnetic media for enhanced data storage density and stability. Dr. Doerk received his B.S. from Case Western Reserve University, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, where he performed experimental research on inorganic nanowire synthesis and thermal characterization.
