What’s most important is they identify as a year older, every year. Synonyms: Uzee, Età, and Aldur.
Alder System: A system where everyone gets older every year, not on the body’s birthday. Though, one or a couple members could happen to get older then since everyone may get older on different days. System travel is very possible between these systems and it’s often a common occurrence for members from each system to visit the other’s headspace. Members may even be able to front within their Amor System(s). (If you are connected to only one system in this way, they would be your Amor System).
Cura Systems: Two or more systems whose headspaces are connected via Gates and/or portals of some variety. These systems are often close and trust each other very much. All the system members are aware of who they are and maybe even the other members fronting with them or trying to front with them. This could make it a bit hard for them to see through the body’s eyes and cause the body’s vision to be unclear for them but it doesn’t have to.
Frontlocked: When front is “locked” or inaccessible to other headmates when a frontstuck headmate isn’t in front/the control room.
Frontlock Averse: When a headmate or a select handful headmates aren’t affected by any sort of frontlock and still can go into front/the control room when the frontstuck headmate isn’t there. If it’s clear or unclear, if they have to visualise things before they see them in headspace, if they have trouble seeing certain things in headspace or headspace in general (not due to how headspace functions itself). Can also be used to describe how a system member interact with headspace due to limited vision, having to visualise before seeing something, etc.
Avisum: When system members can’t see or visualise headspace for any number of reasons and either can’t interact with it at all or have difficulty doing so. This can be combined with Sanavisum and other similar terms.
Corpvisum (pronounced core-visum): When system members can view/see and interact with headspace as well as the body interacts with meatspace/the outerworld. Twivisum: When system members see headspace through a point of view that’s not first or third person. This may or may not make intreracting with headspace difficult.
Absorber: A headmate who “soaks up” either the optimism or pessimism of other system members. They mirror that optimism or pessimism. Some Absorbers may choose to “soak up” both, though. If they choose to “soak up” or absorb the optimism, they may be seen stuck to the hip of the system Optimist (if there is one). In this case, they’d be trying to help the Optimist’s (or Pollyana’s) goals to lift the system up to better, happier places. If they choose to “soak up” or absord pessimism, they may be stuck to the hip of the system’s Worrier or Cynic (if there are any). They’d be trying to help with their goals to point out bad things that could happen and maybe even help disrupt system life.
Antagoniser: A headmate whose morals don’t align with most or all other system members. This could be in big or small ways and it doesn’t have to disrupt system life but could. They could also just be seen as a small annoyance rather than a disturbance but that’s doesn’t have to be the case either! It all depends how they interact with the other system members and how those other members handle their differing morals. Synonyms: Intimidator, Annoyer.

Coach: A headmate whose role is to make sure the system’s body is healthy with a healthy and balanced diet along with good exercise. They will often try to teach other system members about what they know to hopefully gain some help and support from them. Some Coaches may also be helpful to system members in the mental health department as well, making sure everyone is mentally healthy or as mentally healthy as possible. Synonyms: Mentor, Trainer.
Cynic: A headmate that thinks very negatively, like a Worrier, but wants to disrupt life in someway for other system members or the system as a whole. They may do this because they want other system members to understand or relate to their constant negative emotions or because they have some anger issues or because of a number of other reasons. Their disruptiveness can be “small” things or things that are bigger. It all depends on how disruptive to life they want to be and how disruptive they’re allowed to be.
Dvalen: A system member who has the ability to make members go dormant, as well as pull members from dormancy. This may be part of a bigger role the member has but it could also just be an ability that some members have just because they do.
Emotionalist: A headmate that feels a lot of emotions, but is good at expressing those emotions to others. They are good at advocating their emotions to others as well as advocating for other system members. They also tend to be good at expressing the feelings of the system as a whole to other people as well. Whether this be through actions or words.
Escutcheon: A headmate who is very open with their feelings, but try to put up a shield of sorts so that external forces or internal forces can’t hurt them at all or not as much. They’re often system members that are normally described as being tough and don’t like the idea of being or being seen as vulnerable. They often times will try to detatch themselves from their emotions in someway, especially if any or all other system members are feeling the same or in a similar way to them.
Executioner: A headmate who tends to be a bit aggressive or off-putting to others; who feels the need to interject themselves into arguments outside of the headspace. They don’t try to calm the argument down or come to a compromise, instead they assert themselves into it and say their peace before potentially backing out. However, if the outside person they’re arguing with continues arguing as well, they may likely stay in front to continue arguing back. Often, they are inserting themselves into the arguments because they felt personally attacked in someway and the argument or person upset them in someway. Their goal is not to protect themselves or anyone else in the system, but to try to have their feelings and opinions on the matter heard. This can but doesn’t have to include headmates who may sometimes purposely and personally mess up relationships outside of headspace that they deem “not important,” “not worth while,” or they believe is somehow harmful to them and maybe even the whole system. This may be a designated role or could just be one that sort of “fell into their lap” so to speak. They may also have roles connecting to inviting soulbounds or other, similar headmates into the system but don’t have to. Some may have a space in the innerworld where they create these other system members that can be referred to as the “Build-a-Bud Workshops” but each system may have their own terms as well. Not all Builders have any sort of workspace and that’s perfectly fine!
Hygienist: Pretty straight forward, but this is a headmate who makes sure that the body is kept clean and well-maintained in the hygiene department. They may do this by taking front when needed, at (a) certain time(s), once a day, and/or by keeping up with what other headmates are doing while in front to make sure they do their part as well.
Jokestar: A headmate who’s a jokester and looovveess being the centre of attention! Depending on their personality, they may be very helpful to a system’s Optimist. However, they can also tend to make jokes in a wrong situation. Some may even make a lot of dark jokes when they think it fits a situation, even if it may not always be the best time to joke or best thing to joke about. They’re contribution really depends on their other personality traits and how much they yearn to be the centre of attention.
Känsla or Kanslive: The opposite of an Emotionalist; a headmate who does very poorly at expressing their own emotions. Some may even do so poorly as to need another system member or the system Emotionalist to help explain for them to other system members or people outside of the system. They may even be afraid or uncomfortable to express their emotions but don’t need to be. This is not a result of a system member being non-verbal or otherwise hard to communicate normally with.
Lone Wolf: A headmate that sticks to themself. They may or may not be close with only a select number of system members or they may be close with most everyone in the system. However, they don’t tend to front much and don’t like interacting internally or externally in big groups. When they do front, they often like to do so alone (not co-fronting) and don’t engage externally with many people unless necessary. Just because they like to be alone, though, doesn’t mean they can’t contribute to the system or that they don’t have a lot to contribute. Synonyms: Loner.
Naturalist: A system member that is extremely connected to nature. They love the outdoors and feel most comfortable surrounded by nature and natural things. They are the most likely to be the best with plants and animals. Most of their interests likely revolve around all of these things. They are also the most likely to take care of any plants or animals the system has as a whole or, at least, the “less appealing” caregiving required. Synonyms: Nadair, Natura, Nádur.
Negotiator: A headmate who’s role is to settle disputes or arguments externally with singlets or other systems apart from their own. They find compromises where other system members may be reluctant to or too stubborn to even consider. They take pride in finding the “middle ground” that everyone can in someway agree on.
Optimist: A headmate who is always trying to find the good in things for themselves, the system, and others! Whether that be finding more good in an already good thing or the little bit of good in a prinarily bad thing. They try to boost other system members up when they’re down and are always looking for any of the potential positives in anything that happens. They also tend to be, but don’t have to be, the life of a party. Synonyms: Pollyanna.
Peacemaker: A headmate whose purpose is to find compromises for internal disputes between system members. They take pride in settling arguments for the better in which everyone is happy with the outcome.
Proferian: Similar to a trauma holder, these system members hold traumatic memories. They may even got stuck reliving said trauma from time to time or very often. The degree of which depends on how a system works. While reliving said trauma, they are often unaware of the passage of time and thus are rarely the system member or members who handle daily life for a system.
Protescutor: A headmate who would technically be a prosecutor/persecutor otherwise but they and/or their headmates don’t feel it totally fits or don’t like the connotations. Usually a headmate who “isn’t as much of a jerk” as prosecutors/persecutors are seen as. Can also be used for headmates who are both persecutors and protectors. Receptionist: A system member who can invite new members into the system (usually using the system’s Gate to invite them) with the ability to assign the new system member(s) to a subsystem. Synonyms: Secretary.
Shida or Shidlive: A headmate who likes to cause trouble, but not always to necessarily disrupt system life. Like Jokestars, they like to be the centre of attention. Unlike Jokestars, they don’t always make jokes though. The amount of trouble and/or disruption they may cause depends on the headmate’s personality.
Swordsperson (or swordsman/swordswoman): A system member that is very protecting of their friends, partners, and/or family. They focus on protecting those they care about outside of the system rather than those within. Depending on their overall personality, they may seem or come off as “over-protecting” to others but that’s just primarily how they show that they care. They can be a regular protector as well, but don’t have to be. Synonyms: Bodyguard, Guard, Caretaker.
Syllogist: A headmate who focuses on logic and statistics when it comes to just about anything. They especially use it to determine how system wide or system member decisions might turn out. They can also tend to use it to justify their own feelings about certain things or to try to shut down their emotions if they view them as “wrong” or “illogical.” This can either be a headmate that already feels a lot of emotions or very litte or in between. Synonyms: Logician.
Timekeeper: A headmate that “keeps time” for the system and makes sure the system is where they need to be on time (work, school, meetings, hangouts, parties, etc). They don’t want to disrupt the system, but sometimes their over-worrying can do that. Synonyms: Pessimist, Downer.
Disparethnic: A system member whose race, culture, and/or ethnicity is different than the body's. This term is made with the thought in mind to have a term to explain some system member's experiences but not as a way to let white-bodied systems talk over people of colour on poc issues and hardships. It also shouldn't be used to participate in closed cultures that the body isn't apart of.
Entomate (from “Entós” meaning within): A system member that isn’t an introject or factional of any variety, including oc fictives and the like. Just a system member who doesn’t have a real life or fictional “counterpart” and doesn’t seem to come from any outsourced or insourced media. Putting a member’s initials in the beginning such as L-Seelen or KC-Seelen is also another way to distinguish who’s soul line a Seelen is a part of.
Xisten: A sysmate type term for system members who just appeared in their system. These members didn’t form internally, they weren’t created, they didn’t split off from a member or the system as a whole, and they didn’t walk in - they just are. They just exist and it’s almost as if they appeared out of thin air. Extra Info: Meant to be used like terms such as fictive, introject, paromate, etc. “They are a Xisten.”

Undersecretary(ies): What we use instead of "tertiary host." Our undersecretaries do their best to keep the system in shape, up-to-date, fulfilling duties/responsibilities, etc while our ministers and deputy ministers are busy with other things innerworld or for whatever reason can't front for long periods of time. They will also help out when our ministers and deputy ministers have their hands full with too many responsibilites or just other things that are important.

(These were made in an attempt to offer more terms for those who want to distance themselves from the greater kin community, as we’ve seen it growing increasingly toxic with seemingly no end to the madness. Unfortunately, no words will likely ever feel as perfect as Kin does, but we hope that some people appreciate these. They were made to include factkin as well).
