The performance level for the factory supercharged 6.2L Challengers and Chargers is a great start for an amazing car. Hellion has now built a twin turbo system to take the supercharged 6.2 to the next level. Yes, compound boost! We mainstreamed this technology over 15 years ago and now we bring it to the Hellcat / Demon / Redeye platform.

The factory heat exchanger does a great job of cooling the intake charge while the turbos produce efficient boost to aid in power production. This kit can be adjustable from a little above stock to over 1600+ RWHP. So, if you are looking for a small bump in power to start with or a larger jump later, this is your kit.

The V8 powertrain was upgraded with a billet stroker crankshaft, custom forged pistons and rods, ported and polished heads and a custom intake manifold where the supercharger used to rest. The ball bearing turbochargers now sit underneath the headlights, one on each side of the air-to-water intercooler.

Hennessey claims that their twin-turbo Dodge Demon is now capable of 1,400 HP at 6,500 rpm and 1,192 lb-ft (1,616 Nm) of peak torque at 5,200 rpm at the crank and on race fuel. The dyno run on the video showed 1,237 HP and 1,076 lb-ft at the wheels on 20 psi (1.3 bar) of boost, which sounds pretty close to the above figures if you count the transmission losses.

The Challenger SRT Demon featured in this video from MotorTube is a perfect example. The clip already captures our attention simply by featuring an SRT Demon, as these are rare with only 3,300 built during its short production run. Then we get to the real eye-opener for this muscle machine, and it's not the bright green finish. Instead of going for a pulley and tune to make more power from the supercharged Hellcat V8 engine, this Demon ditches the blower in favor of two turbochargers.

We have the video embedded to start with the dyno pulls, but our TLDR summary for the first half of the clip is that it's a "budget" project by the owner who wants to take it racing, but only has a week to get everything done. It's hard to see how swapping an already potent supercharger for turbos is a budget move, but hey, we're here for the sounds and power just like you. And on those fronts, the Demon definitely delivers.

The first dyno pull with the turbos is essentially a shakedown to see how the components and computer settings get along. Without adjusting any boost nor pushing the engine deep into the rev range, the modded Hellcat V8 posted 625.8 hp to the wheels. Estimating a 15-percent driveline loss, that equates to roughly 720 hp at the crankshaft. Not too shabby for an untuned engine.

Video from That Racing Channel on YouTube shows SpeedKore's extra demonic Challenger SRT Demon hit the dragstrip. Let's make this clear: it sounds angry. The 1,400 hp is the figure measured at the crank, but 1,203 hp still makes its way to the rear wheels. The Wisconsin-based shop had one goal when it set out to build the car: make the fastest Demon on the planet.

It's easy to overlook one major accomplishment about this build: the engine's internals are 99-percent stock. A custom twin-turbo setup that runs 26 psi of boost (for now) replaces the Demon's supercharger to make the big power.

More Power PotentialĀ

This system was designed to operate from 5lbs to over 30lbs if desired. Most customers only run 5lbs of boost, which in the case of The Hellraiser, will make an average of 550rwhp (over 600 horsepower at the crank). Turning the boost up with a turbo is as easy as changing the wastegate spring or adding a manual or electronic boost controller.

Factory FitmentĀ

Everything is supplied in the system from full tubular headers, turbos, downpipes, wastegates, and all the bells and whistles needed to install the turbo kit into your vehicle. Quality fitment ensures that the turbocharger kit gives a stock-fitment look under the hood that bolts into the factory exhaust location.

Retention of All AccessoriesĀ

This will allow the retention of all factory accessories since the turbo is driven with spent exhaust gasses rather than a belt-driven supercharger.

Unsurpassed Technical SupportĀ

Having been touted as the company that revolutionized the Mustang turbocharging industry, Hellion is continually contacted by its competitors' customers seeking tech support. In many cases, the customer was unable to contact and/or receive support from their competitor. It is their pleasure to support the turbocharging industry regardless of brand or place of purchase.

Lifetime Warranty On All Stainless PartsĀ

Not to mention, they also include a lifetime warranty on all stainless steel parts to provide the best customer satisfaction.

Hellion Dealer information

Hellion is very strict about who they allow as dealers. Hellion dealers must have experience with high-performance forced induction applications and provide excellent customer service and application advice. Most online-only or mail order companies are unable to qualify as dealers, but you are welcome to stop by our shop to talk about your application or view our supercharger/turbo kits.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is already a monster straight from the factory. With 840 hp coming from its supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, it's hard to top this street-legal drag racer. Or is it? Look no further than what the folks at aftermarket tuning firm Speedkore have created: a twin-turbo, carbon fiber-bodied Dodge Demon, set to officially be unveiled at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas. Gone is the famed supercharged, replaced by two 6875 Precision Billet ball-bearing T4 turbochargers.

Tired of reading about what Tesla is up to or how many miles per gallon the world's newest plug-in hybrid can achieve? We've got you covered. Behold this twin-turbocharged Dodge Demon that's so stupidly loud and powerful, the engine noise alone could wake up the dead.

Under the hood of the amped-up Demon is the same supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 found in the stock model, but it's had two 7675 Precision turbocharges bolted on, in addition to a beefier torque converter, a carbon fiber driveshaft, and a rear-differential brace to make sure the overall package doesn't go kaput due to the added horsepower. And speaking of horsepower, this roll-caged ride puts out an insane 1,203 horsepower at the rear wheels.

The 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo has a recognized 10.7 seconds on the quarter mile. The Turbo S has demonstrated a 10.5 second time. Both models can do the times without drag racing slicks and pizza-cutter front tires. Without deleting the passenger seat or taking off the door mirror. And certainly without a special serial numbered crate.

Once again, the twin-turbo 6.2-litre HEMI V8 mill in the Charger is the work of Gearhead Fabrications and is basically a reworked Demon engine with its supercharger discharged in favour of a pair of new Precision 6466 turbochargers squeezed behind the front bumper.

According to Speedkore, the custom carbon-fibre Charger Widebody was commissioned by the owner of the twin-turbo carbon-fibre Demon for his brother. For now Speedkore has yet to verify its performance figures on the drag circuit, and will be putting it through its paces to get some numbers out soon. Stay tuned.

Dyno testing provides a glimpse into the inner workings of the Hennessey upgrade package. This video demonstrates the car's raw horsepower and torque, giving viewers a sense of the incredible engineering that goes into these upgrades. 2351a5e196
