I'll be posting A Coward's Refuge pages here, and possibly updating them if I see fit. I plan to release pages in bulks of four, but currently I'm busy with college so please be patient! I'll announce these bulks here and on my socials. Synopsis:

Novice magician Artful learns true magic through mage Lizzy in hopes of becoming Robloxia’s greatest magician. However, being shunned and judged since childhood, combined with his first big performance going horribly wrong, he has a deadly, impulsive outburst against his audience. Artful hides in cowardice and regret from the authorities, but finds himself in a world under lockdown against a takeover of monsters, and meets the cryptid known as the Pursuer. His life from then on changes for the worst.

The world of Robloxia has been overrun by monsters. To ensure civilian safety, the Robloxian Government have gathered society in underground bunkers until the threats have been neutralized. For now, governmental groups of expeditors, authorities and skilled civilians search for more supplies and refugees, whilst fending off the monsters to hopefully take back their home.

Artful: The Fraud.

Pursuer: The Cryptid.

Lizzy: The Mage

"Artful is a French Magician who's had a deep connection to magic since birth*, and WAS a popular celebrity before his... 'incident.'
After one of his performances went particularly badly, Artful let his emotions get the better of him and resorted to "taking out his frustrations on his entire audience." He now lives his life as a criminal on the run, too afraid to turn himself in and deal with the consequences of his actions."

*In this fan comic headcanon, he only got into magic later in life!

"A dangerous apex predator of unknown origin, its speed and hunting abilities are unmatched. With its unique ability to turn completely invisible, it's able to sneak up on unsuspecting prey before quickly dispatching of them without a trace. By the time you hear its howl far off in the distance, it's already too late."

"Lizzy is a descendant of great Robloxian sorcerers and magicians, being a mage herself. She owns the magical Deck of Death and has a history of teaching its powers to newcomers in the field. The deck chooses who it thinks are worthy, and she'll go out of her way to help if a chosen subject isn't so fit for the job. She trusts her students will improve from her guidance.”

Lizzy isn’t featured in-game and is solely a character in Artful’s official DOD lore. In it, she’s #1 fan who somehow redeems Artful for his extremely criminal actions? She’s a bit of a nothing burger, so I made her more important!
