DocVoice Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026

DocVoice is a Chrome extension that helps users listen to and study content in Google Docs through text-to-speech, summaries, study notes, quizzes, and related reading features.

Information DocVoice accesses
DocVoice accesses the text content of the Google Doc that the user is actively viewing when the user requests features such as Read Document, Read Selection, Read From Here, Summarize, Study Notes, or Quiz Me. DocVoice may also use user interactions such as clicks, selections, and caret position inside Google Docs to determine where the user wants reading to begin.

How information is used
Google Docs content is used only to provide DocVoice’s reading and study features. Basic text-to-speech, Basic Summary, and Basic Quiz features are processed by the extension for the user-requested functionality.

Data storage
DocVoice stores preferences such as selected voice, speed, volume, pitch, theme, summary settings, and quiz preferences using Chrome local storage. DocVoice does not permanently store the full contents of Google Docs.

Data sharing
DocVoice does not sell user data. DocVoice does not use Google Docs content for advertising, creditworthiness, or unrelated purposes. The current published version does not send document content to third-party AI services unless a future optional cloud feature is explicitly enabled and disclosed to the user.

Security and privacy
DocVoice accesses document content only as needed to perform features requested by the user. User data is not used for unrelated purposes.

Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated if DocVoice’s features or data practices change.
