# Privacy Policy for Scanner App

## 🛡️ Privacy-First Architecture
Scanner is designed from the ground up to keep your documents strictly private and secure. All document scanning, edge detection, optical character recognition (OCR), filtering, and PDF generation occur 100% locally on your iOS device. We do not store or transmit your documents to external cloud servers.
### 1. On-Device Document Storage
All scanned documents, images, multi-page PDFs, and folders are saved directly within the app's local sandbox storage on your device. We do not operate external cloud databases for your scans, and your files are never transmitted to third-party servers.
### 2. On-Device OCR & Text Recognition
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Apple's native Vision framework. Any recognized text indexed for in-app search remains in your device's private local storage. Text is never sent to external AI models or remote processors.
### 3. Face ID & Biometric Security (App Lock)
When you enable biometric App Lock, authentication is performed exclusively via Apple's LocalAuthentication framework and verified by your device's hardware Secure Enclave. Scanner never accesses, records, or transmits your facial geometry, fingerprint, or passcode.
### 4. PDF Encryption & Password Protection
When you choose to export password-protected PDFs, standard AES encryption is applied locally on your device before sharing. The passwords you choose are not collected, stored, or transmitted to any server.
### 5. Device Permissions
Scanner requests only the permissions necessary to function:
• Camera: Required only when capturing physical documents, receipts, or ID cards.
• Photo Library: Used solely when you choose to import existing photos or save exported PDFs/images to Photos.
We do not access your photo library in the background or scan photos you have not selected.
### 6. Advertising & Analytics (Free vs. Pro)
• Free Version: May display non-intrusive banner and interstitial ads delivered via Google AdMob. AdMob adheres to Apple's App Tracking Transparency and privacy guidelines.
• Scanner Pro: 100% ad-free experience with zero advertising network requests or ad trackers.
• Crash Telemetry: Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics may collect anonymous crash diagnostics and aggregate feature usage solely to diagnose bugs and improve app stability.
### 7. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
All purchases, lifetime unlocks, and subscriptions are handled directly by Apple through StoreKit. We never collect or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.
### 8. Data Retention & Deletion
Because your documents are stored locally on your device, you have complete control over them at all times. Deleting a document or folder in Scanner immediately and permanently purges all associated files from local storage.
