Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 17, 2026
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
Multi_Software ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mobile application Doc scanner (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared when you use the App.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Company Name: Multi_Software
App Name: Doc scanner
Package Name: com.multisoftware.image.to.pdf.converter
Contact Email: multisoftwareltd@gmail.com
The App is a document scanner and PDF toolkit. It lets you scan documents with the camera, convert images to PDF, scan ID cards and passport photos, merge, split, compress, organize, edit, lock or unlock PDFs, convert PDF pages to images, and compress photos.
2. Our Privacy Promise
We do not create user accounts.
We do not require you to sign in.
We do not upload, store, or process your scanned documents, photos, PDFs, or PDF passwords on our servers.
Document scanning, PDF creation, editing, compression, merging, splitting, password protection, and image processing happen locally on your device.
We only receive information through third-party services described below (mainly Google advertising and Google Play services), not through our own backend.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
The following data stays on your device unless you choose to share a file with another app.
3.1 Documents and Images
When you scan, import, create, or edit files, the App may temporarily store images and PDFs in the App's cache while processing them.
Finished PDFs are saved locally, typically under Documents/Image to PDF.
Exported images are saved locally, typically under Pictures/Image to PDF.
On older Android versions, files may be stored in the App's private folders.
We do not copy these files to our servers.
3.2 App Preferences
The App stores small settings locally on your device, such as:
- Theme preference (system, light, or dark)
- Whether you completed onboarding
- Notification reminder settings
- Local timestamps used for reminders (for example, last app open, first PDF saved, unused tools)
- Local counters used to decide when to show ads
This preference data does not include the contents of your documents.
3.3 PDF Passwords
If you lock or unlock a PDF, the password is used only on your device to encrypt or decrypt that file. We do not save, upload, or share PDF passwords.
3.4 Android Backup
The App allows standard Android backup. Depending on your device settings, Android may back up App preferences to your Google account. Document files saved in shared folders (Documents or Pictures) follow your device and Google backup settings, not a separate upload by us.
4. Permissions We Request
The App requests only the permissions needed for its features. You can deny a permission, but some features will not work.
4.1 Camera
Used to capture documents, receipts, ID cards, passport photos, and similar images.
Used by the in-app camera and by Google's on-device document scanner.
Captured images are processed on your device to create PDFs. We do not upload them to our servers.
4.2 Notifications
Used to send local reminders on your device, such as:
- A reminder if a scan was left unfinished
- Occasional tips about unused tools
- A reminder if you have not used the App for a while
These are local notifications. We do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging or any other push-notification service, and we do not send notifications from our own servers.
You can turn reminders off in the App settings or in Android system settings.
4.3 Internet
Used to load ads, communicate with Google Play services, check for App updates, and run Google's document scanner UI.
Internet access is not used by us to upload your documents.
4.4 Advertising ID
Used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads.
You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your Android settings.
4.5 Photos, Files, and Storage
The App does not request broad storage or media-library permission.
To pick photos, it uses the Android system photo picker.
To pick existing PDFs, it uses the Android document picker (Storage Access Framework). You choose the specific files; the App does not get access to your entire gallery or file system.
To save files the App creates, it uses Android MediaStore or the App's own folders.
5. How We Use Information
On-device files and preferences are used only to:
- Provide App features (scan, convert, edit, save, share, rename, delete)
- Remember your settings
- Schedule local reminders you can disable
- Decide how often ads are shown on your device
We do not sell your documents.
We do not use your scanned documents, photos, or PDFs for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.
6. Sharing Files
If you tap Share, Open, or a similar action, Android may send the selected file to another app you choose, such as email, messaging, Drive, or a PDF viewer. That sharing is controlled by you and by the other app's privacy policy. We do not receive a copy of files you share this way.
7. Advertising
The App is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, including banner ads, native ads, and interstitial ads.
Google and its advertising partners may collect and process information such as:
- Advertising ID
- IP address
- Device type, language, and operating system
- App activity related to ads (for example, that an ad was shown or clicked)
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Other data described in Google's policies
This information is collected by Google and its partners, not stored by us on our servers. It may be used to provide, personalize, and measure ads.
We do not sell your personal information. Advertising data is handled by Google under its own policies.
You can reduce personalized advertising by:
- Resetting or deleting your Advertising ID in Android settings
- Using Android's ads or privacy settings, where available
- Visiting Google's ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com
8. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services. They may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
Google Play Services
Used for core platform features, the document scanner, ads, and in-app updates.
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google ML Kit Document Scanner
Used to scan documents with auto-crop and enhancement. Scanning and image processing are performed on your device through Google Play services. Google may receive technical information as described in Google's privacy policy.
https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/vision/doc-scanner
Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads
Used to display ads.

https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
Google Play In-App Updates
Used to check for and download App updates from Google Play.
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Android System Photo Picker and Document Picker
Used so you can choose specific photos or PDFs without granting full storage access.
We do not currently use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or a separate crash-reporting SDK of our own.
9. Log Data and Diagnostics
We do not operate our own analytics or crash-reporting servers.
Google Play services, Google Play, and AdMob may automatically collect diagnostic or usage information (for example, device model, OS version, IP address, crash or ad-delivery events) to provide their services, show ads, and improve reliability. That data is governed by Google's privacy policy, not stored by us.
10. Data Retention
Documents and images remain on your device until you delete them in the App, in Files/Gallery, or by uninstalling the App (files saved in shared Documents or Pictures folders may remain after uninstall).
Temporary cache files are deleted by the App or by Android as needed.
Local preferences remain until you clear App data or uninstall the App.
Advertising data retained by Google follows Google's retention practices.
11. Security
We design the App so that your documents stay on your device.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. The security of files on your phone depends on your device protections, such as screen lock, device encryption, and who has access to the device.
If you password-protect a PDF, keep that password safe. We cannot recover it because we never store it.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Because the App shows third-party ads, it is intended for users aged 13 and older.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, contact us at multisoftwareltd@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.
13. International Users
The App is distributed through Google Play. If you use the App, third-party providers such as Google may process data on servers outside your country, as described in their policies.
14. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Deny camera permission (scanning with the camera will not work)
- Deny notification permission or turn reminders off in Settings
- Limit or reset your Advertising ID
- Delete files created by the App from the Files tab or from your device storage
- Clear App data or uninstall the App
- Contact us to ask questions about this policy
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not collect your documents or run user accounts, most data is only on your device. For data held by Google (ads, Play services), please use Google's privacy tools or contact us and we will help where we can.
15. Links to Other Sites or Apps
The App may open third-party links (for example, this Privacy Policy page, Google Play, or an email app). Those services are not operated by us. Review their privacy policies before using them.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
