What is Documan?

Documan is a document manager for iPhone. It lets you store, view, search, and organise your files — PDFs, images, Word docs, spreadsheets, and more — all in one place on your device.

How do I add a document?

Tap the + button and choose how to import:

• From Files — pick any file from your device or cloud storage

• From Photos — import images from your photo library

• Scan — use your camera to scan a physical document

• Share Sheet — from any other app, tap Share → Documan

How do I view a document?

Tap any document in the list to open it.

How do I rename a document?

Long press (or swipe) on any document and select Rename. Type the new name and confirm.

How do I delete a document?

Swipe left on a document and tap Delete. You have a few seconds to undo — a prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Where do deleted documents go?

Deleted documents go to the Bin. You can find the Bin in Settings. Documents in the Bin can be permanently deleted or restored.

How do I search for a document?

Tap the search bar at the bottom and type the document name. Results update as you type.

How do I share a document from Documan?

Open the document, then tap the Share button. You can send it via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any other app.

Can I import documents from other apps?

Yes. In any app that supports sharing (Safari, Mail, Files, etc.), tap Share → Documan. The document will be added to your library automatically.

A document I imported isn't showing up — what do I do?

Try pulling down to refresh the document list. If it still doesn't appear, try re-importing the file. Make sure the file format is supported (PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, WEBP, BMP).

The Share Extension isn't working — what do I do?

Make sure Documan is installed and you've opened it at least once after installation. If sharing still doesn't work, try restarting your device and trying again.

The app feels slow after heavy use — what should I do?

Try deleting documents you no longer need and emptying the Bin. This helps free up memory and storage.
