Dave O'Callaghan

In 2016, the Chiraprawat Cup underwent a heartfelt transformation, becoming known as The DOC Trophy in honour of David O'Callaghan. David, a beloved former Club Captain, left an indelible mark on our club before his untimely passing in his native New Zealand that same year. Throughout his tenure, David exemplified dedication, serving on the committee in various roles including Treasurer and Chairman. Affectionately known as DOC among his friends, David's spirit continues to resonate within our club.

In subsequent years, his wife Lynda and son Chris made memorable journeys from New Zealand and London, respectively, to participate in the tournament, illustrating the enduring bond David fostered. The return of Lynda to Banyan in 2023 brought a wave of fond remembrance as we honoured David's legacy once more.
