Privacy Policy for DocsGuard
Effective Date: July 12, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to DocsGuard. We are committed to protecting your absolute privacy and ensuring the unbreakable security of your documents. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our mobile application ("DocsGuard" or the "App").
2. The Core Principle: Zero-Knowledge & Local Processing
Our fundamental philosophy is that your data belongs exclusively to you. DocsGuard is engineered with a strictly local-processing architecture.
No Cloud Servers for Files: We do not upload, transmit, store, or process any of your documents, photos, or videos on any remote servers.
On-Device Operation: All document editing, watermarking, and security features are executed entirely locally on your device's hardware.
Zero Access: Our developers, employees, and company have absolutely zero access to the files you import or modify using DocsGuard.
3. Information We Collect for Support Management
DocsGuard operates entirely without user accounts; you do not need to register, provide an email, or log in to use the App or purchase Premium features. While your documents and files remain strictly local, we collect minimal information only if you voluntarily contact us for customer support:
Customer Support and Feedback Data: If you submit a complaint, inquiry, or feedback through our "Contact us" Page, we securely collect and store your Name, Email Address, and the contents of your message in our secure database.
Purpose of Collection: Support data is stored exclusively to analyze, process, and respond to your complaints or inquiries via our official support email. We do not use this information for marketing, nor do we ever sell it to data brokers.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
To ensure absolute clarity, DocsGuard does not collect, store, or share:
The contents of your documents, images, PDFs, or videos.
Any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) beyond the explicit support data mentioned in Section 3.
5. Data Collected by Third-Party Services (Advertising & Diagnostics)
We integrate highly trusted industry-standard third-party SDKs to monetize the free tier of the App and manage payments. These services handle data as follows:
Subscription Management (Apple App Store / RevenueCat): Used securely to verify your purchase history and validate your current subscription tier. This data is not linked to your real-world identity.
Advertising (Google AdMob): To support our free features, the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (such as the iOS Advertising Identifier or IDFA) and usage data (such as ad interactions) to deliver personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. This tracking only occurs if you explicitly grant permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Native Diagnostics (Apple App Analytics): We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs (such as Firebase). We only receive anonymous, aggregate crash logs and performance metrics provided natively by Apple if you have opted-in via your iOS device settings to share diagnostic data with developers.
6. Subscriptions and Payment Processing
All financial transactions are handled securely and directly by the Apple App Store. DocsGuard does not process, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing addresses. Because DocsGuard does not require user accounts, all subscription purchases, premium access, and purchase restorations are tied strictly and directly to your personal Apple ID. You can seamlessly restore your purchases on a new device by using the Apple ID associated with the original transaction.
7. Data Retention
Because we do not have user accounts, there is no profile data to retain. We retain your support history only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.
Your Right to Delete: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your submitted support messages and contact email from our database at any time.
Subscription Management: Please note that deleting your support history with us does not automatically cancel active App Store subscriptions; you must manage and cancel those directly within your Apple ID store settings.
8. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users have the right to request access, modification, or deletion of their data. Because DocsGuard operates locally and does not store your files on our servers, your right to erasure of your files is completely in your control. To delete all your documents associated with DocsGuard, simply delete the files from your device or uninstall the App. For your support data deletion, please refer to Section 7.
9. Children's Privacy
Our App is a professional document security tool and is not directed at individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable legal age in your region). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child, we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our databases.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated policy will be accessible within the App settings.
11. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how DocsGuard handles your privacy, please reach out to us directly through our "Contact us" page located within the App. Once you submit your inquiry, our support team will review your case and respond directly to the email address you provided.
