KD Studios operates the Docly PDF Reader & Scanner mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Data Collection and Use
We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal documents or sensitive information on our servers. All document processing happens locally on your device.
2. Permissions We Request
To provide a professional experience, the app requires the following permissions:
Storage/Files Access: To read and write PDF, Word, and Excel files on your device and to save edited versions.
Camera: Used solely for the Document Scanner feature to capture images of physical documents for PDF conversion.
Internet: Used for basic app performance monitoring and, if applicable, displaying ads or processing in-app purchases.
3. Local Data Processing
Document Editing: When you edit a text or add a signature, all changes are saved directly to your device's internal storage or cache.
OCR & Scanning: Text recognition (ML Kit) is performed entirely on-device. No images or text extracted from your documents are ever sent to KD Studios or third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyze the use of our service:
Google Play Services: For billing and app updates.
Firebase/AdMob: For crash reporting and analytics to improve app stability. (These services may collect device IDs or basic usage data according to their own privacy policies).
5. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us. Since your documents are stored only on your device, their security depends on your device's security settings. We recommend using the "PDF Lock" feature within our app for sensitive documents.
6. Children's Privacy
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
