Doaa Altarawy, Ph.D.

Dr. Altarawy received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in the U.S.A and her M.Sc. and B.S. in Computer Engineering from Alexandria University in Egypt. Her research interests include Machine Learning, Algorithms, Software Engineering, Visualization, and their applications in systems biology and computational molecular sciences. Doaa led and participated in many projects that build software tools in interdisciplinary research settings, particularly software tools that enable domain scientists to utilize computational methods. Dr. Altarawy joined the Molecular Sciences Software Institute (MolSSI) as a Software Research Scientist in May 2017.

Under the MolSSI’s vision, she plans to contribute to the advance of the global field of computational molecular sciences through the development of innovative and well-designed software infrastructure, education, and other outreach activities.
