Hello, I apologize for being a DropBox rookie. Someone sent me an invite to a shared folder but DropBox says I have no space and I need to upgrade to be able to accept the invite. I don't use DropBox for my own storage and only use it when someone sends me a file to download. As far as I know, when I download a file it only goes to my computer, not taking up drop box space, is that right?

I have 2 dropbox accounts, currently signed into one of them. I am unable to sign into my other dropbox account as the email address is from a workplace I am no longer at, I no longer have access to it. I have forgotten the password to the account and can't reset it because I don't have access to the email. I need to cancel the premium Dropbox subscription on the account and delete the account. How can I do this without having access to the email address? I have an invoice from dropbox showing the Premium monthly charge as proof that it is my account.

Do I Need To Download Dropbox To Use It

I am so sorry to repost this same question, but have exhausted myself and all other options. They can't help me from chat. I have the same situation of a second inactive account, possibly from an old employer/ email address. I can supply the potential previous addresses, but I've changed jobs so many times that I'm not even sure which. Please, I need to stop this endless drain of $11.99 on an account I no longer use. I have tried using the "find account" interface by entering the transaction code from my bill, but this interface is not working. I've tried Chrome and Edge and always get the error "enter last 4 digits of credit card," which I have already given in that field. There is a 12-digit code on my credit card bill, but only a 10-digit code on my debit/ checking account bill, so that interface won't accept the 10-digit code anyways. I don't know which one of these codes is from my active account that I want to keep and which one is from the inactive account I want to close. This seems like a super common problem that I wish Dropbox would have some way for people to more directly resolve, rather than having to publicly bug people through the community, when instead it should just be an option pathway in "contact support." Thank you in advance for reading my message.

If you choose to receive your security codes by text message, you need a phone capable of receiving text messages (carrier rates may apply). A text message containing a security code will be sent to your phone each time you log in to Dropbox.

Depending on your account type, you can invite someone to view your files or folders by sharing a link or setting permissions. If you need someone to be able to see your files, but not edit them, you can send them a view-only link to that file, or you can give them view-only permissions.

When you share a view-only link with someone, they can view and download the file or folder on dropbox.com. You can send a link by email, Facebook, Twitter, instant message, social networks, wherever you want. You can share these links with anyone, even if they don't have a Dropbox account.

When working with the Dropbox APIs, your app will access Dropbox on behalf of your users. You'll need to have each user of your app sign into dropbox.com to grant your app permission to access their data on Dropbox.

Before you can get started, you'll need to register your app with Dropbox by creating a new app in the App Console. That page will guide you through the process of registering your app, selecting permissions, and obtaining an app key and secret (a.k.a. client_id and client_secret) and inputting redirect URIs.

For customers who need additional space, storage add-ons will be available for purchase for new customers on September 18 and existing customers on November 1 at 1TB for $10/month if purchased monthly or $8/month if purchased annually.

We remain committed to providing a great experience to all our customers and ensuring they have the solutions they need to do their best work on Dropbox.

Here's my issue/question:

Do I need to have dropbox installed on all devices to sync. or is it not necessary, as it will sync over the cloud anyways? I'm sorry I am concerned to try it out by myself, because I don't know if I will crash my good running Joplin Ecosys.

Because it doesn't need the app it might also be worth not syncing the Joplin folder where you do have a dropbox client, it isn't needed and just tempts fate if anything is changed in there which can cause the sync target to break.

Okay, I'm sure if I get your suggestion.

So if I don't sync the Joplin folder of the dropbox client, where should I sync my data over?

I think I'm missing something of your idea, can you give me a little better explaination.

Joplin interacts with Dropbox entirely by connection - it doesn't use the local dropbox folder.

So if you sync that Joplin folder to your desktop you essentially have Joplin uploading data directly then your dropbox downloads it to store it locally.

In your dropbox client you should be able to go to preferences > sync > selective sync and deselect the joplin folder.

What do you mean? It's nowhere written that a Dropbox client is required, thus it isn't.

So shall we list all non-requirements? Where will this end. You do not need a steak knife to use Joplin, nor a screwdriver.

So now I would like to clean up the old vault data in Dropbox since I no longer need it. Can someone please suggest the best approach to cleaning that up? When I open Dropbox, I see the following:

Is there anything I need to keep, or can I delete everything related to 1Password?

Hi @Mathieu_1P. I remember hearing that there was one file that needed to be left alone, even in Dropbox. Are you saying that everything shown in my screenshot can be deleted from Dropbox? Just making sure. And to confirm, I'm using the family membership everywhere now. Thanks.

@ajahn: If you've moved everything over to your 1Password account (you can always check by signing in at 1Password.com), you don't need the files in your screenshot anymore. Of course, you can choose to keep them if you want.

I bet you are thinking about the very old syncing pointer file in Dropbox. It is a hidden file on macOS, but you'll likely see it on the Dropbox website. If you have everything in your membership then yes you can certainly remove all of those files. In later versions of 1Password the file referenced below was not needed. But as you can see I collect stuff from bygone years here at 1Password.

Templates are used for documents that need to be reused and sent out for signature multiple times. When preparing a document for signature, users can choose to save as a template. Creating a template saves the prepared fields to the document making future sends quick and easy. Sending out a template for signature is fast because the fields are already prepared on the document, eliminating the need to start from scratch each time.

No, nothing. Ever. They get an email notifying them of the signature request and all they need to do is open the document and sign. There is nothing they need to pay or special training they need to have. Signing is quick and easy. Once they've signed, both of you automatically receive a copy of the document.

You need to be a registered voter to vote by mail. The deadline to register to vote in the Municipal Election is Saturday, October 28, 2023. You can register online, by mail, or in person at Boston City Hall.

You should apply as soon as possible. We need to receive your application at least five business days before Election Day. Remember that it can take up to a week for the mail to be delivered in one direction, so it's best to try to apply at least two to three weeks before the election.

If you cannot sign your name on the ballot envelope, the person assisting you should sign your name in the space provided for the voter's signature. They should then provide their own information in the space provided for the assisting person. If you need an accommodation because of a physical disability, you may apply to the state's Elections Division.

For the Municipal Election if you're hand-delivering your Municipal Election ballot to us or dropping it in a drop box, it needs to be returned by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

It's not that they aren't good solutions, they are! I'm sure with a bit of extra time and effort I could have gotten to where I needed to be. But I kind of felt like I was late to the party with both.

If you get an access token with sl at the start, or find that the access codes only last for 4 hours or less, you may need to follow some extra steps to generate a long-lived access token for Dropbox apps.

If you're getting a code off another user (from the sharing the app section) this is just an access code. It links the user up with your Dropbox access, but you'll need to covert the access code into an refresh token and then scroll down the next code block to wire it up.

First, you'll need to get a refresh token so that you can keep your API access active. You can automate getting a refresh token in the Dropbox SDK, but since I was doing this for one user, I found a manual workaround. Here's a guide to manually generate a long-lived access token for Dropbox apps. ff782bc1db
