Запрошення взяти участь у проєкті «Стати Дніпром»

Цей проєкт викликав велике зацікавлення не лише у людей, які живуть зараз в Києві. 

Це онлайн-запрошення для участі звертається не лише до тих, хто живе зараз в Києві, але й тих, хто живе вздовж берегів річки за межами міста, а також тих з вас, хто має зв'язок з річкою і хотів би бути поруч, але не може...

Це запрошення має на меті створити множинні колективні річкові історії сьогодення. Це жест для створення тіснішого зв'язку з уявою, заплутаного складного наративу, з різних точок зору, спогадів та відчуття «тепер», натхненного минулого, що перетікає в майбутнє. Зараз - це коли потік зливається на нашому шляху.

Саме ти можеш писати словами, зрозумілими людині, але ти не людина, ти - сама річка. Уявіть, що Ви є річка Дніпро.  І ви розповідаєте історію від її імені. Я запрошую вас створити письмовий твір: вірш, оповідання, роздуми... передати те, що може відчувати, думати, спостерігати або переживати саме річка Дніпро. Це мистецька форма, завдяки якій телепортуєте себе у стихію води. Тоді ти більше не людина, а обʼєкт, який зливається одним тілом з річкою. Ви переплетені усіма текучими відчуттями так, як ніколи раніше не відчували.

Цей жест відкритий для всіх, це колективна дія, щоб «стати річкою». Однак це відкритий простір, який прагне стати «втіленим досвідом», він не закликає нас бути «добрими» до річки, а заглиблюється глибше, є формою емпатії, що виходить за межі людського досвіду, де уява відіграє найважливішу роль. Не поспішайте, будь ласка.

Обмеження:

• Текст українською мовою, максимум 250 слів. 

• Вказати ім'я автора (ім’я, яке ви хочете, щоб було на публікації) і місце, де ви написали текст

• Аудіозапис вашого читання вголос, щоб передати його безпосередньо річці.  

(Будь ласка, створіть цей аудіофайл якомога кращої якості, в ідеалі - у форматі .WAV і з тишею на задньому плані).

Записані слова будуть відтворюватися вголос від імені річки Дніпро, що стане формою обміну, яка резонуватиме з інтимністю цих слів, між вашою водоймою та її водою. Фінальна збірка стане колективним звуковим пейзажем, а також книгою онлайн та/або друкованою з перекладами англійською мовою. Ця форма також дозволить подорожувати за кордон, щоб зробити видимою присутність і важливість річки Дніпро. 

Цей символічний акт зближує тих, хто перебуває в різних місцях і ситуаціях, з річкою, як важливим символом української культури, а також з річкою, яка є разом з усіма нами в цьому досвіді.

Participatory Invitation

“Becoming the Dnipro”

This project has shown a lot of curiosity and interest beyond the people who are present these days in Kyiv. I would like to create a participatory invitation online that can include not only the ones living in Kyiv but those who live in the river bank beyond this city as well as  those of you who have a bond with the river and would like to be near but can’t be…

This invitation aims to create a plural collective river stories of the now. It is a gesture to create a closer bond from imagination, a tangled complex narrative, from different perspectives, memories and experiences of the “now”, inspired by the past to flow to the future. Now is when the flow merges in our path.

Therefore you are the one who can write in words that humans can understand but you are not a human, you are the river itself. I invite you to create a written piece: a poem, a story, a reflection… to channel what the Dnipro River might feel, think, experience, witness…. It is an artistic form to teleport ourselves into a place through fluvial senses. You, then, are no longer a human water body but a river body. You are tangled with all the ecosystems in ways you have never experienced before.

This gesture is open to all, it is a collective action to “become the river”. It is an open space, however, aiming to be an “embodied experience”, it is not about telling us to be “good” to the river, but go more profoundly, a form of empathy beyond human experience where imagination has the most important role here. Take your time please. 

The limitations are the following:

1. A text in Ukrainian language of maximum: 250 words. 

2. Include the name of the author (as you would like it to appear published) and the place where you wrote the text.

3. An audio of you reading it aloud as a form to communicate it directly to the river.  

(Please create this audio file with the best quality as possible, ideally .WAV and silence in the background).

The recorded words will be played aloud to the Dnipro river, a form of exchange to resonate with the intimacy of those words, between your body of water and hers. The final collection will become a collective soundscape and also a book online and/or printed with translations in English language. A form to also travel abroad making visible the presence and importance of the Dnipro River. 

This symbolic act has the feeling of bringing those in different places and situations closer to the river, as an important element of Ukrainian symbolism but also as a river who is together with all of us in this experience.
