Follow these steps to complete your application.
Please read each step and instruction thoroughly.
Take your time and be thoughtful. Your story matters.

You may either:
Make a copy of the Google Doc and type your answers, or
Download and complete the application in a separate document.
Complete the sections in the application:
Basic Information
Name, school, GPA, etc.
Financial Information
Short-Form Essays:
Six responses, each 250 words or less.
Long-Form Essay
One essay, 500-700 words.
Ten Year Plan
Your future, year by year
Use bullet points, table, or paragraph format
Important: Do not use AI tools (such as ChatGPT or others) to write or assist with any part of your responses. This scholarship is about your story, your voice, and your values.
Include the following documents:
Most recent transcript
Resume
SAT/ACT Score(s) if available
Important: It is your responsibility to ensure both letters are submitted by the deadline.
Choose two trusted adults who know you well.
One must be a teacher.
The second can be another teacher, a coach, counselor, boss, or pastor.
Give them these instructions:

Subject Line: [Applicant Name] Letter of Recommendation.
Answer the questions listed in the application.
Email your completed application and attachments in one email to: dmwahlescholarship@gmail.com.
You may:

Paste your answers into the email body.
Just be sure everything is clearly labeled and included.

We recommend checking in with your recommenders to make sure both letters have been submitted by the deadline.
All applicants will be required to complete a handwritten essay in person.
You will be given a fresh prompt and asked to write your response without notes or devices.
We are looking for thoughtfulness, authenticity, and your ability to think on your feet.
Date and location will be announced soon. Please check back for updates.
You will meet with members of the scholarship committee for a professional interview.
This will be your opportunity to speak for yourself, share who you are, and grow through the experience.
Dress professionally.
Please choose one available time slot for your interview. Once you enter your name, that time will be reserved for you.
