Remote Sensing of snow, glaciers and sea ice, Surface Modelling, Polarimetric Radar Backscatter Modelling, Hyperspectral Image Analysis, Thermal Remote Sensing, Passive Microwave Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing of Soil Moisture, GNSS-reflectometry, Applied Machine Learning, Applied Neural Computing, Pattern Recognition, and Feature Selection/Extraction.
My research interests involve development of algorithms for remote sensing of snow including, snow cover mapping and studies on snow geophysical parameters. I work with multispectral, hyperspectral and polarimetric SAR data. I utilise/develop models based on information theory, probability, stochastic and statistical modelling. I also work on the development and utilisation of electromagnetic scattering models with SAR Polarimetry for surface/volume moisture and dielectric studies. I am also interested in radar applications for sea ice studies.
