Privacy Policy
The DMV Practice US team built the DMV Practice US app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided at no cost on Google Play (ad-supported) and as a freemium app with optional subscriptions on the Apple App Store, and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
DMV Practice US does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location. Your study progress, bookmarks, statistics, exam-date countdown, selected state, language preference, and other in-app settings are stored LOCALLY on your device using on-device storage (Hive and SharedPreferences) and are not transmitted to our servers.
If you uninstall the app or clear its data, your local progress is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you (such as a mobile advertising identifier and basic device data) for the purposes described in each provider's privacy policy.
Third-party service providers used by the app:
- Google Play Services https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdMob https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
- Google Firebase https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
(Remote Config and related diagnostics)
- Apple StoreKit (iOS only) https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- RevenueCat (iOS only) https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Log Data
Whenever you use our Service, in case of an error in the app we may collect data and information (through third-party products) on your device called Log Data.
This Log Data may include:
- IP address
- Device name
- Operating system version
- App configuration
- Time and date of use
- Other statistics
Cookies
Cookies are small data files used as anonymous unique identifiers.
This Service does not use cookies explicitly. However, third-party libraries (in particular the Google AdMob SDK) may use cookies, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, including personalized advertising where you have consented.
You can choose to accept or refuse personalized advertising through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and the App Tracking Transparency prompt shown on first launch.
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads, where you can reset or opt out of personalized ads.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the app displays a Google-certified consent prompt (CMP) on first launch and lets you update your choices later from the in-app settings.
Advertising
The free (non-Pro) version of the app is supported by advertising delivered by Google AdMob. Ad formats may include banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. AdMob and its partners may collect and process limited information (such as your advertising identifier, IP-based approximate location, device type, and ad-interaction events) to serve and measure ads.
Pro subscribers on iOS do not see advertisements during their active subscription period.
For details on how Google uses this information, see:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals:
- To facilitate the Service
- To provide the Service on our behalf
- To perform Service-related services
- To analyze how the Service is used
- To deliver advertising (free version)
- To process subscription payments (iOS Pro)
These third parties have access to limited information only to perform their assigned tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
Payment & Billing Data (iOS only)
On iOS devices, the app offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (weekly and monthly) and a one-time lifetime purchase that remove ads and may unlock additional features ("Pro").
Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account, and subscription state is managed by RevenueCat on our behalf. We do not store, see, or have access to your full payment details such as credit card numbers, billing address, or Apple ID password. RevenueCat receives a non-personally-identifiable subscriber ID, your purchase history with this app, country, and device platform to determine your entitlement status.
Refer to Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies linked above for details on how your billing information is handled.
The Android version of the app does not offer paid subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Notifications
The app may send you optional local notifications on your device (for example, study reminders or exam-date countdowns). These are generated and scheduled on-device only and are not sent through any push-notification server operated by us. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's system settings.
Security
We value your trust in providing Personal Information and strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to third-party websites (such as official state DMV pages or our own website). We advise reviewing their Privacy Policies, as we have no control over their content or practices.
Children's Privacy
This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13, and the app is rated for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary action.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar U.S. state laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Because the app stores your study data only on your device and we do not maintain user accounts on our servers, most data-access and deletion requests can be fulfilled by you directly: simply uninstall the app or clear its data in your device settings to delete all locally stored information. To exercise any rights with respect to data processed by our third-party providers (advertising, subscription billing, diagnostics), please contact us at the email below and we will assist you to the extent possible.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and material changes will be communicated through the app or the App Store / Play Store listing.
This policy is effective as of May 4, 2026.
