About Me

"All students can learn and succeed, but not in the same way and not in the same day".

– William G. Spady

Hello!

I am Charity Bolanos, and I have been a teacher since 2008. I am from Southern California where I earned both my BA and MA degrees from Concordia University Irvine. I earned my reading credential through UC San Diego, and my administrative credential through the Santa Clara County office of Ed (L.E.A.P.). More recently I wrapped up my S.E.L. certification through UC Riverside and also became G.L.A.D. certified as well.

I moved to the bay area early in my career (around 2010) and have enjoyed all of the scenic activities and weather that the bay area has to offer. I came to DMS in 2018 and I LOVE it! I have taught grades 6-8, and I am excited to continue teaching 8th grade Barracudas!

I LOVE teaching and I really enjoy middle schoolers. We want our 8th graders to be prepared for high school, and to really know how to advocate for themselves as students.

Outside of teaching I enjoy site seeing, reading, and BBQ's with my family. I have a husband who is in the tech industry, an energetic elementary age daughter, a curious cat, and a traveling sidekick dog. I am looking forward to a new school year, and I am excited to get to work together this year!
