Based upon the work of Dr. Herschel H. Hobbs, 1907-1995, and selected others as I am led to do so by the Holy Spirit. They provide an additional study look into the Life and Work and Life Truths studies for adults based upon Bible study and teaching under the direction of the Holy Spirit since 1960 in SBC churches. I am currently teaching through the web aimed at adult couples Sunday School classes. This study or other comments from this web page does not necessarily reflect the views of the SBC, the Baptist Sunday School Board of the SBC, the church’s Sunday School, its staff or its pastors since I believe in the Priesthood of each Believer. I offer a combination book review SBC commentaries, the Advanced Bible Study commentary, and personal assessments to create a useable teacher's notes and guides from it. It is the same lesson material I use myself. I hold firmly to The Baptist Faith and Message as a faithful statement of what the Bible says. I agree with our seminaries some of the time since most now teach Calvinist and Reformed doctrines as an acceptable alternative. I REJECT CALVINISM and REFORMED IN ALL FORMS [See God’s Plan of Salvation below]. See what Dr. Hobbs said about Calvinism. I hold that God’s part of the Plan of Salvation is Grace and the convicting work is of the Holy Spirit. I believe the sinner’s freewill part of the Plan of Salvation is Repentance and Faith (Greek definition] as defined in (Acts 20:21 RSV) "testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance to God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ."
I believe God WANTS every human to be saved but not everyone will be saved because each person must PERSONALLY, of their own freewill, repent and have faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord and commit their life to service. John 3:16.18, 2 Peter 3:9, ROM 10:9, ACTS 20:21, LUKE 23:46

NOT

On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers."

BELIEVE
JOHN 3:16-18 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
ACTS 13:39 and by him every one that believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
ACTS 16:31 And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

HEB 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

1 JOHN 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

FAITH

GAL 2:16 yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ , not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified.

2 COR 7:10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death.
THE PLAN OF SALVATION
This means these are requirements, none of which may be ignored, no matter who says so.
The basic verse is (Acts 20:21 RSV) "testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance to God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." With this verse goes all the above verses as a collective.
Who is this God to whom we to repent and this Jesus in whom we are to have faith? It is the Trinity and only the trinity. The Trinity is Three Separate Devine Persons who are perfectly united as God. They are God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. None of them are of themselves God. Only together are they God. Southern Seminary professor Bruce A. Ware put it this way: “Put differently, if you imagine for a moment removing the Father and the Spirit from the historical Person Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you realize that this Jesus the Christ could not be -- i.e., he could not exist and be who he is -- devoid of the Father and the Spirit. Indeed, the identity of Christ depends on the reality of the Trinity.”
REPENTANCE
LUKE 13:3,5 I tell you, NO; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish........ I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
ACTS 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
MATT 3:8 Bear fruit that befits repentance.
FAITH (Greek definition: Believe, Trust, and Commit your Life) (Verse from RSV)
ROM 10:9-11 "because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved." The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame." [Jesus is divine. The Father got Jesus out of death. Jesus did not get himself out of death. You must believe this. Jesus was raised from the dead by the Father; He is not risen from the dead!]
LUKE 23: 46 "Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit!""
1 JOHN 5:1 "Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, and every one who loves the parent loves the child."
LUKE 14:26 "If any one come to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." [In the sense that Jesus is above all others, including self. Therefore a person’s life must be completely dedicated to Jesus.]
LUKE 14:27 "Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple." [This is Lordship! No discipleship - no salvation! No commitment of life, no salvation!]
JOHN 6:53 "Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you."
Eph 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
