TRUE DOCTRINE DOES NOT COME FROM ANY REFORMED/CALVINIST DOCTRINE

Remember Reformed means modern Calvinism!!!

(1 Cor 15:15 RSV) "We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise IF it is true that the dead are not raised."

Remember Jesus was RAISED from being dead by the Father through the Holy Spirit.

(Mat 17:22-23 RSV) "As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, ‘The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.’ And they were greatly distressed."

(Acts 10:39 RSV)  "And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; but God raised him on the third day and made him manifest;"

A key critical verse is: (Acts 20:21 RSV) "testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance to God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." Note: NOTHING is said about Grace!

The Baptist Faith & Message stresses and declares:

Quote: “IV. Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

A. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior.” Unquote. [My Emphasis]

Jesus WAITED in Paradise for the Father and Holy Spirit to RAISE Him from the Dead! (LUKE 23: 46 RSV) “Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit!" And having said this he breathed his last.” Jesus DID NOT GET HIMSELF OUT OF DEATH!!!

(Rom 10:9-10 RSV) "because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved."

Paul was quite specific: (1 Tim 1:8-11 RSV) "Now we know that the law is good, if any one uses it lawfully," Before we read on we MUST remember that the law is good for us ONLY if we keep it PERFECTLY! (Gal 3:6-9 RSV) "Thus Abraham "believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness." So you see that it is men of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham (actually Abram GEN 12), saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." So then, those who are men of faith are blessed with Abraham who had faith."

Note carefully (James 2:10 RSV) "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it." AND read it again: (James 2:10 RSV) "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it." Mess up ONCE and the Law has NO benefit.

Jesus is the ONLY human who kept the Law Perfectly! One sin, small or great, makes a man a sinner and brings him under condemnation. God does not force sin. A human, when he/she gets old enough (PS 7:14) to sin by personal choice, then the person becomes lost.

Jesus preached Repentance and Greek belief in the Gospel! Then the Apostles continued this after the Father Raised Jesus from the dead. (Act 20:21 RSV) “testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance to God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” Note: Faith and Believe essentially mean the same thing. Both are defined as Greek Belief: (1) believe with the mind, (2) trust with the heart and (3) commit one's remaining life and lifestyle.

 Study HELPS:

Best Study Guide: How to Study the Bible Principles with Bible, A Study Sources by Orin T. Binkley. Available only in used copies which are hard to find. [Don’t be fooled by similar titles and authors like John MacArthur who is a Reformed (modern) Calvinist.]

Best Translation of the New Testament (but not perfect): THE NEW TESTAMENT in the Language of the People, Translated from the Greek by CHARLES B. WILLIAMS [Note: Web Version of Williams New Testament is at https://studybible.info/Williams]

Fine Translations of the Whole Bible: ESV which is an upgrade of the RSV. While the RSV is still my prime, I am considering changing to the ESV.

Copyright Notes:

Some Lifeway material is published and copyrighted by LifeWay. But now LifeWay sells material by other organizations not of the SBC. The Herschel Hobbs Commentary [no longer written by Dr. Hobbs] is published and copyrighted by LifeWay. The Advanced Bible Study and some other SBC material is published and copyrighted by LifeWay. LifeWay material once provided trusted advanced Bible insight and significant points for study but not so today. Further, the SBC is becoming more and more Calvinist and Reformed and includes other wrong doctrines like from the CBMW. Today the SBC material is often wrong being Calvinist and Reformed, and must be used carefully: Reader Beware! Teacher Beware! Student Beware! I try to note when this is the case in my lessons and study materials.
