B1- Indicators of Program Quality and Site Visit/Monitoring Protocols
This session will provide an opportunity to learn about the new indicators of program quality and how these will provide the framework for future site visit/monitoring protocols. Participants will hear the rationale for the revised indicators, and learn how these may be used as a self-evaluation tool for program continuous improvement and in preparation for site and monitoring visits. Participants will learn about types of site visits and the revised monitoring visit process. The session will include a hands-on activity and ample time for questions and answers.

B2- Redesigning with Outcomes in Mind: LaGuardia’s College and Career Pathways Programs
Participants will have the opportunity to take an in-depth look at best practices and key components of career pathways programming at LaGuardia Community College. This session will review program elements, practices, and resources, from intake and student onboarding documents to contextualized curriculum samples, from LaGuardia’s most successful career pathways programs that serve a range of students from high school equivalency to professional certification programs for low-skilled adults. After examining program practices and strategies, participants will reflect on their own programs to identify and share program components they are successfully implementing and brainstorm ways to adapt and implement new strategies.

B3- From Policy to Performance: FY19 Policies for Effective Adult Education
This session will present the FY19 Massachusetts Policies for Effective Adult Education. Participants will examine a sampling of policies and identify how the new policies support flexibility in program design. By the end of the session, they will have a shared understanding of how such shifts in policy can support innovative responses to student needs.

B4- Navigating the ESE Fiscal System: What You Need to Know from Grants Submissions to Audit and Data
Participants in this session will learn how to manage ESE grant awards. The presenter will guide participants through standard procedures regarding compliance of public funds. Other topics that will be covered include: administrative costs, match funds, amendments, requesting funds, financial reports, and audits. There will be ample opportunity for participants to ask questions.

B5- Connecting the Dots: How Standards-Based Curriculum and the Indicators of Program Quality (IPQ) Work Together to Drive Student Outcomes
This session will provide an opportunity to understand the connections between a program’s standards-based curriculum, the newly-released Indicators of Program Quality (IPQs), and student outcomes. The presenters will guide participants through ways that programs can use these and other tools at their disposal to create cohesive and coherent instruction to improve and accelerate student outcomes. These tools include model curriculum materials, ESOL and ABE content standards, Professional Standards for Teachers of ESOL, Math, and ELA, assessments, and professional development resources for ABE and ESOL practitioners. There will be time for questions and answers.
