About me
Welcome! I am a {neuro/psycho}linguist working on morphological processing. I recently finished my PhD at the Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) under the supervision of Prof. Linnaea Stockall, Dr. Adam Chong, Prof. Daniel Harbour, and Dr. Samantha Wray.
I am currently working as a Research Associate for the SAVANT Project (Tagalog Team), an ESRC-funded project being conducted by Morphemes and Meaning Laboratory at QMUL, Neuroscience of Language Laboratory (NeLLab) at NYU Abu Dhabi, and University of Ljubljana.
Current Projects:
Psychological and neural bases of morphological decomposition in Tagalog (PhD research)
I explore questions like: how are complex words encoded in the human mind and brain -- as constituents or as whole words? What information does the human mind/brain use during this early, form-based decomposition mechanisms?
To address these questions, I primarily use behavioral (e.g., reaction time, accuracy) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) to measure neurophysiological activity; capitalising on its excellent temporal and spatial resolution to track neural processes as humans encounter morphologically complex words visually.
SAVANT (Systematicity and Variation in Word Structure Processing Across Languages: A Neuro-Typology Approach) Project:
As a doctoral research associate in the SAVANT project, we're investigating the neurobiologial bases of morphosyntactic and morphosemantic processing in understudied languages.
