Description
On site, a microcontroller is continuoulsy reading the temperature from two (2) temp sensors and logs the result with 5 min intervals over WiFi and Internet to ThingSpeak, Blynk and Adafruit IO "IoT services" . All these IoT services features dashboards (and more) of logged data in web browsers and/or mobile apps. This page gets the temperature from ThingSpeak (as iframes) and displays here.

Technical details
The microcontroller is a NodeMCU ESP8266 programmed in the Arduino IDE with lots of public libraries and support. The temp sensors are Dallas DS18B20 which are conneted on separate serial 1-wire buses.

Prototype board. NodeMCU and 2 temp sensors (DS18B20) with built-in resitor and capacitor. Temperature is logged to ThingSpeak, Blynk and Adafruit IO every 5 mins.

Temperature data is also logged to Blynk which features a dashboard of gauges and graphs as well as a button to control a LED (or anything) on the NodeMCU.

Blynk has no web interface, but features a mobile app only. The dashboard is very easy to configure as well as the extra code in the NodeMCU, which is almost nothing. Blynk is very easy to "program".

The LED button (ON/OFF) controls the built-in LED, but can be any other I/O-Pin or variable. With this feature it is possible to pull a relay to start a heater (from anywhere in the world) for instance.

Adafruit IO offers a Dashboard of Feeds with Triggers and other Service. The above is a screenshot of the Temperature dashboard. Adafruit IO is similar to Blynk but offers a bit more control and therefore requires a bit more programming and dashboard configs. Dashboards are in a web interface and no mobile app.
