On dubstep and other effective DJ techniques

One of the world’s universal rule of thumbs is to be successful at anything. One needs to put in the work. It is true in all endeavors in life, including being a successful DJ. The best DJs in the world have put in the hours, and have studied and perfected the craft. And while each has their unique style, there are several techniques that young DJs can learn to enhance their sound, as well as listeners’ experience. DJ Rama.

Take dubstep as an example. It’s as basic as can be. But through constant experimentation, many DJs have come out with original music. Some DJs have even discovered new sub-genres underneath already existing sub-genres, such as the fusion of jazz and EDM. DJ Rama.

Another requirement of being a great DJ is to have a signature voice. It’s a lot easier said than done, though, since DJs deal with a lot of beats and rhythms – sounds that usually drown out everything else, including the DJ’s identity.
