Roses belong to the rose family of plants, called Rosaceae.
Roses vary in colour, size and shape.
Roses of the same variety can have unique scent elements. Roses smell most intense in the early morning. The smell of a rose is in its petals.
Rose symbolises beauty, love and compassion.
Tulips are native to Central Asia and Turkey.
Tulips include about 100 different species, and are considered part of the Lily family.
Tulips are bell-shaped flowers and they produce two or three thick bluish green leaves that are clustered at the base of the plant.
Tulips are among the most popular of all garden flowers, and numerous cultivars and varieties have been developed.
The daisy family is the the largest family of flowering plants in terms of number of species. The family comprises more than 1,600 genera and 23,000 species.
The daisy is two flowers in one. The large outer petals make up one flower, and the cluster of tiny petals that form the center “eye” make up another.
The name 'daisy' derives from 'day's eye' - referring to this humble wildflower's tendency to open when the sun rises and close when it sets.
The scientific name for the orchid is the Orchidaceae.
Orchids are the largest family of flowering plants, with more than 25,000 species.
Orchids have the tiniest seeds in the world. This makes them a challenge to grow and cultivate.
