There is something about small town living that just makes us all better. Now I know our little secret of heaven is out and growth is inevitable. Growth is good, and we can still work together for the small town feel. Together we can continue working towards a place we are proud to call home and want our children to call home for generations after we are gone. Part of the reason to run for Mayor isn't just for the now. I want to work with and team up with local residents, local businesses, and other community leaders for our future. Things that we decide together that will have a 5, 10, 20 year or even longer impact on our small town of Hendersonville. Local business owner for 11 years. Working with contractors, homeowners, employees is a daily routine. Being part of the community and understanding others needs is extremely essential in my line of work. With owning my own small business, I'm constantly working with deadlines while watching expenses. Keeping homeowner and contractor updated with progress and dealing with any unforeseen issues is a must.
Name of presentation
Working with youth has been a passion of mine over the past 15 years. I started a non-profit ministry working with youth and joined another one. Being part of a local church for years working with youth led me to looking out to working with others outside the church walls.
Working with youth has led me to lead multiple mission trips. I've led mission trips to Guatamala, Honduras, as well as Puerto Rico. Being in charge of planning, budgeting and logistics were part of the tasks needed to make these trips great successes.
Teaching hard work and instilling a honest work ethic with my childern has been a priority. I learned these life skills from my grandfather along with my step-father. Here is a business my daughters are working on getting started off the ground, recycling granite and turning it into fire pits.
Graduated from Alfred State with a AOS in building contruction. Afterwards I transfered to Buffalo State in Vocational Technical Education. I was a peer tutor as well as a RA. During my years in college I was on the swim team, water polo team, and played rugby. While attending Buffalo State I was the commercial sale manager at a local home improvement store.
Married my High School sweetheart almost 20 years ago in the perfect spot, Lake Lure. Raising our children in Hendersonville was just the right thing for our family. Four daughters always keeps us plugged in, mainly dancing, along with other family activities.
Final thoughts: I enjoy raising my family here in Hendersonville, NC. We are always walking Main Street, enjoying a round of miniature golf at Boyd Park or just playing at Jackson Park. Over the years we have seen some great growth in the quality of stores and restaurants in our area. With the great weather, the area, and our medical facilities our growth will continue. We need a leader that will help continue to keep Hendersonville a safe and great place to raise our families. I feel I have the leadership qualities needed for the now and for the future. We are at a turning point and need a leader willing to stand up for the future is a must. I will be that leader.
