Five years after my first parkrun experience, I am now an Event Director, Run Director and Outreach Ambassador for junior parkrun in the North East. Seeing the children achieve week after week makes me immensely proud!

I have praise for the changes I see in quite a few of our regulars. One example is 13 year old Alex. Alex was spotted by myself and my Husband at a Secondary School during a takeover day. During a mock junior parkrun, I could see that he had such a natural running ability and spoke to him afterwards.
Since then, he has gone on to take part in Rossmere junior parkrun regularly, has joined the local Harriers group and is performing amazingly in the schools and county cross country events. He has really found a passion for running and has inspired others around him at junior parkrun. 17dc91bb1f
