DJ Khaled has become the modern-day inspirational speaker via Snapchat, and now, along with sharing the keys to success and reminding you to stop playing yourself, the social media sensation is sharing his tips to being best friends with some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

DJ KHALED: Yeah. I'm Arab, I'm Muslim, I'm Palestinian-American. I got love. You know what I'm saying? I got love.Your parents are from Palestine. What sort of music would they play when you were growing up? They listen to Arabic music, but they also supported me, let me play my music through the garage and my bedroom. I was listening to Sam Cooke, Michael Jackson, the Isley Brothers, Isaac Hayes, besides the hip-hop. I was into house music at one point. Coming out of reggae music, I listen to the culture music: Beres Hammond, Morgan Heritage, Bob Marley. So many different vibes I go through, you know? A Buju Banton album, like Til Shiloh, is an album I listen to to this day that inspires me. These people that I'm naming are my friends.

Twenty years ago I was in it, but I don't know exactly what year it started poppin'. I've been around...like I'm good friends with Mavado, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man. I came up rocking with them and loving their music as well as my hip-hop. I was bustin' to rep both worlds.

"Thank you so much. This gift means to much to me," Khaled said in the Instagram video. "... Khaled and Drake. Drake and Khaled. It's also special when we connect ... Fully iced-out. It's so heavy, the quality. Look at the owl, look at the lion, look at the key ... Drake was wearing one, now I got one. It's called brothers. Drake, thank you so much for your friendship. This is beautiful."

Drake has a reputation of blessing his friends and former collaborators with extravagant pendants. He previously gave Khaled and his son, Asahd, a pair of diamond keys; gifted ASAP Rocky a diamond ASAP Yams pendant; and reportedly bought Jennifer Lopez a $100,000 diamond necklace.

While promoting his partnership with DJEEP Lighters, Khaled spoke exclusively with Distractify about how his years-long friendship with Drake has evolved and dropped details about his upcoming 14th studio album!

The worldwide pandemic isn't stopping DJ Khaled from getting work done, and in the intro to the "Popstar" music video, Khaled is desperately pleading with Drake to shoot a video with him. "Yo, Drake, I've been texting you, I've been calling you. You're not replying. I've actually been FaceTiming you. So I'm sending you this video so you can feel my passion and my pain. We have to shoot the 'Popstar' video." What ensues is a barrage of video messages Khaled sends to Drake, imploring him to help even though he is stuck in Canada and can't travel. (Technically, that's a lie.) At one point, Khaled even tries to show his commitment to their friendship by showing off framed photos of the two of them together around his home: "You see, I've got you framed up all over this place! Come on!"

Rick Ross rounded out the group by delivering yet another memorable verse full of punchlines and swagger. His presence helps tie everything together both lyrically and sonically; showing how true friendship also requires trust and understanding from everyone involved. 0852c4b9a8
