Introduction
This privacy policy explains how DIYTech Labs ("we", "us") handles information when you use Dociq: AI PDF Scanner & OCR ("the app").
The app is a document scanner. You scan paper documents with the camera or import photos, and the app detects edges, crops, applies filters, reads text (OCR), and exports PDF, JPEG, PNG, or TXT files.
The short version: your documents stay on your phone. We do not run servers for your documents, and there is no account, sign-up, or login.
Information we collect
We collect very little:
The documents you create in the app — scanned images, exported PDFs, and recognized text — stored in the app's private storage on your device.
Through third-party services (see section 8):
Google AdMob (free version only) may collect device identifiers such as the advertising ID, IP address and approximate location, app interaction data, and diagnostics, to show and measure ads.
RevenueCat (only if you buy Dociq Pro) uses an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt data to verify your subscription.
Information we don't collect
No account. There is no sign-up or login, and we don't collect your name, email, phone number, or address.
We never upload your documents, images, PDFs, or recognized text to our servers. We have no servers for user documents.
The app has no analytics or tracking of its own. The only third-party services in the app are Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Google ML Kit / Play services.
Your documents and scanned text are never shared with advertisers.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only while you are scanning.
Scanning may use Google's document scanner, which is provided by Google Play services and runs on your device.
Photos are imported through the Android photo picker, so the app only receives the photos you select.
On Android 9 and older, a storage permission is used only to save exported files.
How your documents are processed
Scanning, edge detection, cropping, filters, and text recognition (OCR) run entirely on your phone, using Google ML Kit on-device models.
Scanned images, PDFs, and recognized text are stored in the app's private storage. They are never uploaded to our servers — we have no servers for user documents.
Exported files are saved where you choose: Download/Dociq, Documents/Dociq, or Pictures/Dociq.
Sharing happens only when you tap Share, through the Android share sheet.
Advertising
The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address and approximate location, app interaction data, and diagnostics, to show and measure ads.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you see a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are shown.
Your documents and scanned text are never shared with advertisers.
Dociq Pro subscribers see no ads, and the ad software is not started for them.

Subscriptions and payments
Dociq Pro payments are processed by Google Play. We never see your card details.
RevenueCat verifies your subscription using an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt data. It does not receive your documents.

Third-party services
The app uses only these third-party services:
Google AdMob — advertising in the free version. https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
RevenueCat — subscription verification. https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Google ML Kit and Google Play services — on-device document scanning and text recognition.
Data retention and deletion
Your documents stay in the app until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
Files you exported stay where you saved them.
You can reset your advertising ID in your Android settings at any time.
For questions about data held by AdMob or RevenueCat, please see their policies (links above) or contact us.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Your documents are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
Network traffic from the third-party services above uses encryption (HTTPS).
Your choices
Delete any document in the app whenever you want.
Uninstalling the app removes the app and the documents stored in it.
Reset your advertising ID in Android settings to limit ad tracking.
Contact us anytime with questions about your data.
