Course Description

Students demonstrate usage in their understanding by interpreting and analyzing business results, conducting root cause analysis, drawing conclusions, providing recommendations and developing applicable reporting tools. Students will further develop skills in Tableau, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel 2013 including pivot tables, to help with reporting automation and data analysis. Course work will focus on the creation and maintenance of a retail reporting database along with appropriate queries in MS Access that will drive automated reports and analysis tools within MS Excel.

  • Create Action Queries and Macros to keep databases current

  • Show how to link Excel Workbooks to an Access Database

  • Explain the fundamentals for Visual Basic for Applications and Excel Object Model

  • Create automated reports and pivot tables in Excel using data from Access
