A Facile Approach to Prepare Biocatalytic Multicompartment Microcapsules
This research focuses on the construction of polymer-based multicompartment self-assembled vesicles. These are of particular interest as scaffolds for mimicking structural and functional aspects of the living cell as these allow immobilization/encapsulation/modification with biomolecules that serve as active building blocks. Such structures are capable to encapsulate biological molecules like enzymes, nucleic acids, and proteins without affecting their activity. Our particular interest lies in the development of a facile approach to construct micrometer-sized uniform vesicles that can support their potential in advanced catalysis.
