In a technical sense, the term Pakistan divorce process without additional clauses means freedom from all claims arising from the marriage contract. Therefore, the payment of the dowry and past maintenance for the woman is included in this meaning. Unless other amounts are expressly mentioned, the term mubarah used in the contract will mean the revocation of all dowry and maintenance claims prior to the contract. The result will be an irrevocable divorce process in Pakistan. Where the term mubarah is used for the contract and the husband enters into payment of an additional amount, all existing claims under the marriage contract relating to the dower and previous maintenance will be forfeited and the wife will be required to pay the stipulated amount. Therefore, if the husband requests 1000 dinars in a mubarah contract and an amount due to the dowry is not paid, the wife is not entitled to that amount and will be required to pay 1000 dinars.
