For more than 65 years and across three generations, Divis Pyrotechnics has built a legacy defined by excellence, artistry, professionalism, and safety.
Our story begins with Joseph F. Divis, who served as Nebraska State Fire Marshal from 1960 to 1967. Joseph was also a county sheriff of Saunders County, a fire chief for the city of Wahoo Nebraska, and president of the Nebraska Volunteer Firefighters Association. He also helped establish the Greyhound Museum in Kansas, reflecting his passion for the breed and his commitment to preserving its history.
With a deep understanding of fire safety and pyrotechnics, Joseph passed his knowledge, experience, and respect for the craft on to his sons. He taught them not only how to create spectacular fireworks displays, but how to do so with safety and precision at the forefront.
That family tradition continued to grow, and in 1985, Divis Pyrotechnics was formally established as a professional team of pyrotechnicians. At the time, the team represented more than 100 years of combined experience. Today, that expertise spans three generations, making Divis Pyrotechnics one of Nebraska’s most experienced and prolific professional pyrotechnic teams.
Over the years, our team has been responsible for an estimated 10% of professional fireworks displays throughout Nebraska.
But our legacy isn't measured solely by the number of years we've been in business or the displays we've produced. It's measured by the people, communities, organizations, and events we've had the privilege to serve and by the unforgettable moments we've helped create.
