To provide a functional digital logbook and conservation tool, we collect the following:
Personal Identifiers: Name and email address are collected to facilitate account creation, data synchronization across devices, and secure authentication.
Precise Location Data (GPS): DiveBook collects Precise Location data. This is used solely to:
Map dive site coordinates for your personal logbook.
Geo-tag Ghost Gear reports for environmental recovery.
Provide location data for iNaturalist biodiversity observations.
Note: Location data is only accessed while the app is in use. We do not track your location in the background.
Dive Metrics (Health & Safety): We collect dive-specific metrics including depth, bottom time, and gas consumption. This data is used exclusively to calculate your dive history and safety profiles.
Photos and Media: We access your camera and storage only when you choose to upload certification cards or document marine debris/wildlife.
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only under the following conditions:
iNaturalist Integration: Observations (photos and GPS) are transmitted to the iNaturalist API for citizen science purposes if initiated by the user.
Industry Partnerships: DiveBook is the official digital partner of Trident. We may share anonymized, aggregated environmental data (e.g., ghost gear hotspots) to assist in global conservation efforts.
Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to power our infrastructure, including Bubble.io (Data Hosting) and Google Play Services (App Functionality). These providers may process data as required to perform their functions.
DiveBook is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
Your data belongs to you. We retain your logs as long as your account is active.
Account Deletion: You may request the total deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting nldivebook@gmail.com or using the "Delete Account" feature within the app settings.
Data is purged from our secure servers within 30 days of a verified request.
