Diubrachia
Just a thought that never was.
Just a thought that never was.
Diubrachia is the clade that this project will focus on, I'll go throught some of the spieces to show the evolution of the clade.
First a quick introduction on the clade, they are named after their long arms aspecialy compared to their small legs wich have srunk into vestigial stumps.
They are non-pterosaur pterosauromophs and first evolved in the triasic.
Late triassic, Rhaetian
The first species that we will be focusing on, fat-tailled arborosaurs are part of the group that gave rise to the diubrachiums, the arborosaurs. Although this one is quite a derived aborosaur
Arborosaurs are named after the time they spent in the trees.
This species feed on what is inside the trees, not only do they eat the wood in the tress by pelling the bark off of it, they also feed on the insects that live inside of it, they eat a lot and evolved tails filled with fat to store all that energy, obiously that's where the "fat-tailled" part of the name comes from
This animal is subject to sexual dimorphism, although the horn extending from the beak is already a display structure the males of this species psuhes this to the max, it is bigger and flashier. Also similarly to humming birds the beaks of the males are hoocked for fights. Fights betwen conspecifics are almost never lethal because they barely do any damge to each other as theur speed can be compared to those of sloths.
This is it for now, I'll add some more detail on the clade and specices when I feel like it
The entry for the fat-tailled arborosaur will go trough many changes, aspecialy when I add the entry for the first arborosaur.
I am working on new species
So yeah stay tuned and folow my bluesky because I'll inform there if I make big updates.
If you have any suggestions for the project or find any problems with the website please contact me on bluesky too.
