Privacy Policy for ditl

ditl (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a video editor for iPhone, iPad and Mac. You choose photos and videos from your library, and ditl builds a summary on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses, what stays on your device, and what Apple may receive when you use Apple services.

ditl does not operate user accounts, analytics, or advertising. We do not run servers that store your photos, videos, audio, or transcripts.

Photo library

ditl asks to read your photo library so it can find the photos and videos you choose to include. It asks to add items so it can save finished summaries back to your library. Videos, photos, and edits stay in your library and in the app’s local storage unless you share them yourself.

Camera and microphone

In Fine Tune Editor, ditl can record picture-in-picture video with the camera and voiceover or picture-in-picture audio with the microphone. Those recordings are saved with your project on your device. ditl does not listen in the background and does not upload these recordings.

Speech in your videos

ditl transcribes speech in clips to rank them, to match what you search for, and to offer captions. It uses Apple’s Speech framework and prefers on-device recognition. When the device supports on-device recognition, the audio is processed on the device. When it does not, Apple’s speech recognition service may receive audio from those clips in order to return a transcript. ditl does not receive that audio on any server of its own. Transcripts are stored only in the app’s local cache.

On-device analysis

ditl uses Apple frameworks on your device to understand clips. That includes Vision for what is in a frame, and Apple Intelligence (the on-device system language model, when it is available) to score clips, match a search, and suggest a title. Frames and text used for that stay in on-device processing. ditl does not send your library to a ditl server. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, those features are skipped or use the on-device fallback already in the app.

Location in your media

ditl reads location and time information already stored in the photos and videos you select, so it can label a place or order clips. It does not turn on Location Services to track where you are while you use the app.

To turn coordinates into a place name, ditl uses Apple’s geocoder. Apple receives those coordinates and returns a place name and time zone. ditl caches that result on your device. Place names can appear as on-screen labels in a summary.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes payment. ditl receives purchase status (for example, whether a subscription is active). We do not receive your card number or billing address.

Sharing

When you export or share, ditl opens the iOS share sheet. The video goes only to the app or destination you pick. What that service does with the file is covered by its own privacy policy.

On your device, ditl keeps stitch history, project settings, edits, thumbnails, analysis caches, transcripts, and cached place names. We cannot see that data. Uninstalling ditl removes the app’s local data. Items already saved to your photo library remain there until you delete them.

We do not create ditl accounts.

We do not sell your information.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

We do not upload your photo library to ditl.

ditl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page and changing the “Last Updated” date.
