District V is one of the 10 districts under Surigao City Division that are renowned for being the best performing districts when it comes to academic and co-curricular activities initiated through its DepEd programs and projects and manifested in every elementary and secondary school's performances throughout the year. It is ably headed by MA. LUISA A. GUYANO, the Public Schools District Supervisor, and supported by the nine competent school administrators who continually pave ways and means for the realization of the Department of Education's mission and vision through its efficient and effective services to its stakeholders and, most importantly, its clientele, the learners. District V comprises the following six elementary and three secondary schools, to wit: Surigao City Central Elementary School (SUCCES) at Diez St. Brgy. Taft, Capalayan Elementary School (CES) at Brgy. Capalayan, Martinez Elementary School (MES) at Brgy. Mapawa, Lisondra Elementary School (LES) at Brgy. Lisondra, Nonoc Elementary School (NES) at Brgy. Nonoc, and Talisay Elementary School (TES) at Brgy. Talisay, Nonoc National High School (NNHS) at Brgy. Nonoc, Talisay National High School (TNHS) at Brgy. Talisay, and Capalayan National High School (CNHS). And together with schools’ Alumni Associations and Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs), the District V community highly believes in strong partnerships that can manifest commitment and dedication towards achieving high academic performance and holistic child development.
